Cenk from FlipperHost sent me their updated pricing on their OpenVZ VPS plans, as they have recently moved data center from HostDime in Orlando FL to Limestone Networks in Dallas TX. Both their “Basic” and “Standard” plans would fit under the listing criteria here, starts at $3.50/month. Direct sign up link.

You can pay in either PayPal or AlertPay. Their About page is still showing test files under HostDime, but you can use 216.144.250.2 as test IP address. Their post-datacenter-move pricing does seem a little bit more expensive than before. For example, $5.95/month for Standard comparing with $5.75/month before. FlipperHost is based in Turkey but with an office in the state of Indiana. Domain registered since 2009.

Folks may want to review the comments on their previous offers. Not saying anything bad about these folks. At the very least Ceko has better customer service skills than some providers here but they once tried to get out of the low end market only to change their mind and come back.
At least that’s how I read all that.
I’ve been with flipperhost for about 4 months now and have been using their VPS services. Ceko offers amazing customer service and is always there to help. I am getting decent speeds with great up-time. The best part is that they install kloxo and webmin free of charge, which was great for me, as I was not experienced with setting up VPS. I would highly recommend their services to people who want a great customer service.

This provider is a joke. The last one was moving the VPSs from HostDime to elsewhere in Dallas for the following “reason”:

Please come with real causes and tell people if we are not providing top quality services for the money. Tell people here honestly what issues did you have with us and how long it took for the longest issue to be solved? Bash us with real stuff please.
We build our reputation very carefully. If you check google you are the 1 or 1 of 2 customers ever made a negative comment about Flipper Host and strangely you also never leave us as a customer too.

Last time I posted about your kiddie host was because you shutdown all VPS, causing inconvenience for everyone, alleging the price was too low to continue offering the service and few days after you changed the mind and started to sell the VPS for the same price.
BTW you bashed me that time yet you were the kid messed the things and now you once again is bashing the customer for your lack of competence.
First of all, we did not sell for the same price we sold it for more expensive.
Secondly we first ever began selling VPS on 3d of March 2011 and you are a continuous customer of us since 6th of March by buying back as soon as we got the VPS services back. You came back and bought from us again and stayed with us till we changed the datacenter and it is a good proof that we provide top quality services as you never needed a ticket with us. You have the attitude of “throw the mud and let the stain stay” but you are not an honest person and thus you got good service from us you try to twist even good stuff and try to show it as if it is something bad.
You must be real young maybe 14-15 and I most probably am doing a mistake here by answering you. Are you doing this because you have too much free time? What do you gain by bashing a company which gave you top quality services where you never had to even open a ticket? Is it some kind of meditation for you?
We did not cause any inconvenience to anyone except you in our company history I believe and if what we did caused any inconvenience to you why did you buy again and stay with us?

April/May – no services from you
Wow in March you trashed all VPS because “it seems to be unsustainable without overselling and overselling our VPS s could hurt our reputation in long term, thus we took the decision to discontinue our VPS services” when selling the VPS for $ 3.00 but now for just an increase of $0.25 you are selling the same VPS but with MORE resources (25GB disk space vs previous 10GB). Impressive!

In March we thought those prices were unsastainable then refunded customers and also offered a free month extra (except the month they used the vps was refunded already) and we tried to get a better deal with our provider meanwhile and this has disturbed you greatluy and you bashed us in April.
On the other hand at the end of May we began selling VPS again and you quickly ran to buy from us and you were with us till we decided to change our provider… This makes you more mad at us I suppose…
Dear Francisco please understand when we see that to change our provider is on our and our customers benefit in general we will do it ofcourse and you will not be having a say in this we will decide it solely. Some customers like yourself may not like it and complain or ask for a refund or compensation and we will deal with it.
Now let us know if you think it is not our right to change datacenters? If yes then you really have an issue.
The fact is when we began VPS services you were our customer and when we get deals we decided they were sustainable (without asking you I am sorry for that) you again ran to us by paying us 1 time $3 (March) and 4 times in a row $3.25 (June, July, August and September) and instead of 5 months using 6 months of VPS services you actually stayed with us until we changed our datacenter. You loved our services so much I think you would stay with us till we moved to a new datacenter even if it took years. The only reason seems that you are not with us any longer is that we no longer offer the location you like. You are one of most loyal VPS customers of Flipper Host who never wanted to go to buy from any other company infact. Though you try to twist and show it different.
Why do you take it personal that we decided to rebuild our plans back in March? We had our good reasons we really had nothing against you. Why now do you take it personal that we decided to change our datacenter? We did not do it against you we did it for the good of majority of our customers and for our own company. I paid the 2 VPS using PayPal — I have proof of the every date I made a payment — and you sent e-mails with very specific VPS termination dates. Moreover, as you said, I did want a VPS in Orlando and you can’t offer a VPS there so it is a matter of basic math how long I could use the VPS.

We are done with the person called “Francisco” neither in April nor now he had no good reason at hand to bash us except hijacking our offer threads. He was lonely with his claims then and he is lonely now too. We will no longer be responding to him as we think the issue was explained in more then detail for everyone to understand in April and this time. I am a customer of Flipper Host and I am very happy. I get more than what I pay. I almost always find someone at their livechat and for my ticket I dont remember more 20-25 minutes to solve but I did not need a ticket maybe 6 months.

I just want to say, you both are acting like children, but its most disappointing to state that Francisco does this to any provider he doesn’t immediately like. Always quick to (negative) criticism cause he thinks he is perfect. I do not even need to back this up with reasoning, just look through the posts on this site, you will come to understand what I mean. How about you try to HELP people with POSITIVE criticism and POSITIVE suggestions Francisco? I am not saying Flipperhost is the best at what they do, hell I am yet to even try their services, but it would be much more productive for you to offer your help and experience to others instead of bash them constantly. Because most of us who try to do this get a bunch of shit back from the other commenters here as well as the providers. While flipping through your own comments here, most of them have been well thought through, I could have sworn you’ve taken a pot shot or two yourself.
And to be honest LEA (And yes I realize he’s currently sick) seems little interested in dealing with these issues.
I’ll suggest it again.
– Pre register accounts.
– Require first and last names and have them displayed.
– 96 pixel test saying leave a ticket number or give references to you actually having a vps with this provider.
Also:
– Any provider acting in an illegal manner with proof (Like YardVPS with their spam) gets their ass banned until they straighten up.
– Any provider not interested in trying to improve and/or take as valid when folks try to point out problems with their site and/or service doesn’t get listed until they fix their issues.
Yes, I know I’m dreaming (And yes I know LEA has his hands full and won’t actually do any of this) but even WHT with their own unethical behavior requires users to prove that they’re actually a customer when they make a review. Well, they say that they do anyway. Experience shows me that that’s not true but at least they make the attempt.

I’m not sure how I could prove I’m a customer of most of the companies I’m a customer of, since most of my boxes are firewalled off to allow only myself access, maybe a few others too.
I guess we could do something like give the poster a url to wget, say http://www.lowendbox.com/verify.php?hashhere kinda thing, and if that was successfully wgetted from the right ip range, it’d count the review as being valid.
Normally best method would be an IP address and a domain hosted there within. You may have noted that I point that out previously when someone leaves a quick review and I point out that the domain they’re linking to may or may nor fall within the providers IP range.
I do like the idea of a wget though.
LEA has been using a confirm email address plugin although takes two seconds to get around that with a fake but legit email address.

I completely agree with you. I should never continue to answer. It was not even a review of services it was just a person well known around sneaking and doing it to all hosts. I did not know the information before.
Well just to point it out to you what kind of impression this gives on you. If I was considering your services and came across this I would avoid you due to the way you handled it. If there was a negative review with a nice professional response from yourself, I would still be considering you.
@ ixape I also agree with you about the handling. But you see he did it on April too and from the first message he was rude I got provoked as another commentator said.
What I understand from all this is that, Francisco is buying vps from the hosts and then he awaits for any internal mail he can use to make bad propaganda about the host and just as in this case even if he has no bases he just tries to show a common act of a host (to change provider or location of the server) as if it was somethig bad. Then he provokes the host with hoping what I don’t really know (Probably hoping he can provoke the host and get the subject away from his lies)
Francisco should be marked as a troll and should be avoided by all hosting companies as now his aim is clear to all. If I was Ceko I would mention Francisco at sites such “clients from hell”.
On the other hand Flipper Host for me has proven to be a legit host with the solid services and support I get from them and with so many good reviews I have read about them before and after joining. Someone would expect at least few more customers to come up and support Francisco but no,
that is clearly not the case here.

I purchased this package. The VPS accounts are oversold. My RAM shows max usage 95% on a simple LAMP setup. When I sought support, all I got was an attitude. I do not recommend them under any circumstance.

Hello Scott,
Firstly, I see that you are using our smallest VPS product and some blogs may consume more then others. The vps you have is a standard openvz kernelled vps on a 8 core (w/HT) server. As an alternative you can always upgrade your vps plan instantly from your client area only by paying the package difference or you can just get a ram upgrade $2.00 for 256 MB guaranteed ram.
