IT Experts - €3.50 256MB OpenVZ VPS in France

IT Experts Vimal from IT Experts Ltd, a Mauritius incorporated company, sent me again their VPS offer, which actually has not changed since last time, but now with “better CPU resources” and “up to 20TB bandwidth”. “VPS ITE FR-256” is €3.50/month (~USD$4.83) and you can order it with this link. Here is the spec

  • 256MB guaranteed/512MB burstable memory
  • 30GB storage
  • 20TB/month data transfer on 1Gbps shared connection
  • OpenVZ/vePortal

You can also see the same offer at WHT. Servers in France with OVH (test IP: 188.165.246.220). Since IPv6 is available to dedicated servers at OVH I wonder whether OpenVZ VEs there also come with a few free IPv6 thrown in. IT Experts Ltd has been around since July 2007. Reviews on WHT however are mostly negative, although you do see Vimal responding to issues/criticisms quickly :)

It’s a free template, if you know how to google you can find at least 100 of websites with it.

OVH servers = 1 abuse = All node shutdown forever, think about it.

  2. 1 abuse will shut all container. sound scary at ovh

  5. Hello,

That Template is not free. It is commonly used though.

As for OVH policy tehy do not turn off servers. We have strict eyes on emails concerning abuse and we have not received once till date which is a good sign for us.

Any more questions feel free to shoot us an email.

    Thank You.

20 TB of bandwidth for only $5.00 is major overselling. Buyers be aware, this hosting provider is a bandwidth overseller!

    • OVH probably have the best network in europe and most capacity, Most webhosts in europe/uk only have 10Gbps ovh has 500Gbps +

      March 1, 2011 @ 5:36 am | Reply
      • There are other company’s that also have this capacity.

Like Leaseweb in The Netherlands, or Hetzner in Germany.

I think the best network in Europe belongs to Leaseweb, no doubt about that.

        March 1, 2011 @ 3:06 pm | Reply
        • No, Leaseweb has not enough peering.
OVHs BGP View lists a lot more peers in europe than Leaseweb has.

For non-EU Traffic Leaseweb is however WAY better.

  7. ovh and hetzner are the best.
Hetzner has more than 200GBps and ovh more than 700GBps
at hetzner a terabyte cost ~7€ and at ovh a terabyte cost ~15€.

      • Thats combined with all there DC’s though isnt it?

        March 2, 2011 @ 9:46 pm | Reply
        • I think this is only NL – might be wrong. But they do have strong B/W more than OVH.

          March 2, 2011 @ 10:41 pm | Reply
        • Leaseweb also has the best peers of Europe. They have a direct peer with ALMOST every country and with atlest 10gbps.

And, yes i believe that is the combined bandwdith of Netherlands only ( They have 4 DC’s in The Netherlands ) they also bouth netdirekt.de in Germany , and they have one datacentre that you can use upon request in United States, its a new datacentre though.

Used Leaseweb for multiple times now and they have one of the best, if not the best network in europe.

  8. Yes, OVH upped their bandwidth price last year. But it is still good. Speeds across Europe are very good and they seem to be improving when it comes to US now.

      Are you going with hetzner?

      March 1, 2011 @ 7:22 pm | Reply
  10. @ Christian .. Yes Hetzner looks to be our preferred choice. We will probably deploy 3 or more and test and see how it goes.

@Flo, we did tell you that we do not offer Test VPS.

    Thanks.

  28. I signed up for one a few days ago out of curiosity. Speed is meh, I could probably hit 2TB outbound MAX for the entire month. Has disk i/o problems, too many people on a single hard drive. It’s an ok basic VPS for $5 but I wouldn’t trust it with anything where you need uptime. I suspect everyone is using it for file sharing since it’s on OVH network.

I’ve been with them for 2 months, service are ok, but like other said, 1 cointainer abused, OVH taking down the whole server. this happen to me twice already,

    – previsouly the police took the harddisk because 1 VPS container is doing something nasty, so they have to rebuid the node again
    – and now my account have been down for 2 days. Based on the email from them, they’ve got massive DDos attack and OVH taking down all their server.

instead of 2 unfortunate occasion above, conisdering the price, I think their service is OK for me, and I think they should reconsider OVH, since their policy won’t work for lowend situation, where abuse had bigger possibility.

  32. It took them 2 days just to set up the date time correctly.
Their NL server is now down without any notice :-(
    I will give up

  33. Hi,

We are no longer hosting at OVH – France Services has been totally stopped. We have moved to Netherlands, better bandwidth, more ease and space to grow and better hardware with RAID 10 on all Servers.
