NordicVPS – $6 256MB Xen VPS Exclusive Offer

Tags: , , , , Date/Time: May 17, 2010 @ 3:27 am, by LowEndAdmin
Updated February 2012 — It’s long time coming, but NordicVPS has finally bite the dust. Website is no longer working on 24 January 2012. Bye!

NordicVPS Adam from NordicVPS emailed me about their special offer for the LowEndBox readers. While you can get their Xen VPS with 128MB for $7/month, they are now offering 50% recurring discount on their Xen 256 package. Normally at $12/month — it is now $6/month with promo code LOWENDBOX. You get

  • 256MB memory
  • 10GB storage
  • 250GB/month data transfer
  • Xen/SolusVM

You can choose either San Jose, CA in US (good for US, Asia and Oceania users), or Falkenstein in Germany (good for European users).

NordicVPS itself is based in Denmark, whom have been providing virtual servers since 2008. The domain itself is registered in March 2009.

The original owner of LowEndBox known as "LowEndAdmin" or "LEA" for short founded LowEndBox in 2008 and created the concept of hosting applications on low resource "Low End Boxes". After creating the roots of the community that we know today, "LEA" stepped aside and allowed others to carry the torch forward.

I tried to sign up the San Jose service with the promotion code and I do see monthly charge after discount becomes $6. But after click “Complete Order” and entering the paypal page, the charge becomes $11.20.

Hi, we do prorate our bills for the small packages XEN128 and XEN256. If you signed up on any day, other than the first day of the month, your first bill is automatically prorated to reflect that.

I was interested in NordicVPS offer, but unfortunately the only e-payment method they offer is 2checkout. I hope they could offer payments through LibertyReserve or WebMoney.

I have two VPS there. In past month i had about 40% uptime. But that is not uptime as expected, they crippled all VPSs on german nodes (they cant pay for servers so they go to few bigger). VPS’s work with one CPU Core at 800mhz because nodes are overcrowded. With that VPS u can’t do anything except for blog… Recently i moved customers to other server and wanted to use vps as seedbox (network is still good 1gbps), but when i do reinstall no vps can boot (but i can ping ip!?). Support don’t respond except for uniform messages like “we are moving VPS to other node”, “Moving failed, expect downtime”… So far they moved mu VPS THREE TIMES (ovz02, ovz03, vm03, vm09). Admin it is time for dead pool… They took our money and when bills came they are nowhere to be found… I lost 70$ with this b-e-e-p company…
