Bought one, I’m curious how this famous host will work for me.
The biggest reason I bought this was for
Free Software
ClientExec 4.0 is available at no cost with every plan, so you can manage and bill your clients.
Does anyone have experience on how to get this with quickweb?
P.s. Centos 5.5 32 bit is using up 170mb memory with nothing installed yet, doesn’t seem normal?
Scrap the last part, after a reboot it dropped to 44mb, still higher than my other VPS’ but reasonable.
Xen seems to be doing that for me aswell, first boot it uses 140mb of RAM, after reboot much less. Only found it a problem with CentOS.
ulimit?….
Oh, no, forget it, is Xen… Well, maybe there are some processes loaded…
Great offer. :)
Hi,
Due to the very low price of this offer, we’d have to charge an extra £3.50 for ClientExec if you’d like it. This won’t affect most customers. Enjoy the great offer :)
Yeah, was just about to post that aswell.
Too bad they didn’t tell me beforehand.
That’s a pity… :S
Sorry about that – I should have mentioned it before. The CE licences cost us roughly £3 each, so if we sell a VPS for £3 and give it away for free, we get nothing for the VPS and actually make a loss on the licence as well due to Paypal fees. The £3.50 just covers our costs, and CE for £3.50 is still a great offer anyway.
True..£7 = $11 which is exactly what a CE license would cost me. So I’d get a free VPS just to host CE on.
I was asking about this via livechat a few week ago and they tell me they will add information about additional fee for CE license on discount vps. But until now they not yet add that info :) marketing trick.
Exactly :)
Can anyone tell how the companies get clientexec and other software for such a low price?
cos £3 is almost equal to $4.75 and nowhere on the internet have I seen that price for clientexec. Licensepal sells the 25 client edition for $8.95. Thats the cheapest so far I have known.
You buy them in packs of bulk directly.
http://www.clientexec.com/reseller-hosting-software.html
@Daniel : Thanks for the clarification. Can we get bulk licenses for whmcs also?
And sorry to be asking here, many companies are providing CPanel for $5 these days (especially those in Limestone networks). So is there a reseller license for CPanel also?
For CPanel Licenses, Im talking about as an add-on with the VPS Plans and not as a separate or external licenses.
Not to sure about cPanel. Sorry :(
@Anand
Which company gives cPanel licences for 5 bucks away?
One was HostRail with the 65% discount (Cpanel for $ 4.2) and the other I came across was host90 for $5. But as I said before, you get it at these prices only if you buy a VPS from them and not as external standalone licenses.
Maybe if all the fans of LEB can unify and strike a deal with cpanel, then we all may get a VPS license for $5 :P
I knew about hostrail, thanks for host90 :)
Licensepal has a starter license for $8.95
i got this one. after so many OpenVZ offers, this catched my attention.
so far so good. and just realized that it comes with 2 IPv4.

LOL What a download speed
Hi Paul,
That is very slow, but I think the slowness is on the other end as we use 100Mbit uplinks. Have you tried downloading a file from another location?
Ok fair play, is looking better now.
Server has about 8 CPU’s, did check however forgot off top of head. Going to use it for a pbx server, providing speeds keep up.
All good so far, and latest speeds below.
I’ve had a small VPS with them a while back. The vps itself was reasonably stable and performance was ok. But organisational they’re a mess. Lot’s of things that don’t work and very slow support. Check out my comment: http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/quickvps-2-gbp-96mb-xen-vps-in-uk/#comment-17048. Would go with them again. Ever.
Hm typo. Should be “Wouldn’t ever go with them again. Ever” of course.
I can’t recommend this provider at all. I bought their offer less than 12 hours ago and it already failed. Went offline and can’t be brought back via the control panel.
The company that hosts their servers (Vooservers) received a large DDoS attack that crippled their
network for about 30 minutes until they blocked it. I would say this type of thing is extremely rare for
them.
So they basically just resellers of Vooservers?
Vooserver offer: 20% off and double gives you same spec for around £2.95 :)
They appear to have their own servers and their own administrators
and the network is slightly different.
And the lowest Vooservers vps is £3.60 (after coupon) while this is £3.00 and gives you almost the same resources + two IP addresses. Either deal is a great deal.
Okay I see
Get the low cost deal at Vooservers, you just need to pay annually and use their special coupon :)
One could get their discounted offers and resell for the double amount :)
Hi,
We’re not resellers. We own our own machines and colocate some of our equipment with Vooservers in Kent.
This is the problem with colocating servers with provider whose also offering vps (and it happens also for the same market/lowend), some will accuse you as a reseller ^_^
I know. When we started out with Vooservers, they did not offer VPSs which worked well for us, but since the fall of RackVM, we have actually been competing with our supplier, which is not ideal, but we’ve made it work, managing to offer similarly great deals.
Hi,
We have sent out an e-mail detailing the DDOS attack. Access should now be restored, my apologies for the inconvenience. As Joe mentioned, this is extremely rare for us.
I’m assuming this offer is only on till the end of January?
Due to the enourmous demand for this offer from LEB and WHT, we only have 2 more VPSs we can offer under this promotion. Once these are filled, we will get some new nodes up and run a new promotion for February. So, if you want a VPS under this offer, get it now!
Just 1 left!
I managed to grab one earlier. Extremely pleased with it. Thanks!
Thanks, it’s always nice to hear from a happy customer!
This promotion is now finished. Thank you to everyone who made is a success! :)
James, just curious to know what datacenter you;re using? Is it the Sota Connect and mentioned up above? We’ve been looking to offsite our backup server array and some of our support systems and are looking for a European full rack.
How are they?
thanks,
-drmike
We have servers in Sota Connect in Kent and M247 in Manchester.
Everything’s been great so far. If you’re looking for good colo in the UK here are a few links:

Hi all, it really was a great offer. I bought one vps for myself for testing purposes and everything works great. Very quick response and reliable helpdesk. Thanks James. Regards
Is this still available?
Do you provide tun/tap support?
Will you be able to change the rDNS entry for me?
IRC allowed?
Thanks David :)
This offer is no longer available. I will email LEA with February’s offer once we’ve got our new nodes online.
I hate having to make a PayPal subscription.
You can easily cancel it in your paypal account.
The same sale is now back. Use code FEB60VPS for 60% off!
I see on WHT you have servers in Manchester & Kent. Can we request which
city we want the VPS in?
You can do but we have very limited space in Kent we’re looking to move as much as we can to Manchester.
I would be more interested in Manchester. the DC you are hosting in there looks like it may be
a better option than Kent. Still trying to decide!
Hi Joe,
I personally think Manchester is a better bet, partly because if you need to upgrade, there’s more chance we can do it without renumbering you in Manchester. The network also has a higher capacity.
Would you guys be interested if we started offering OpenVZ VPSs at 20% less than this price?
