  1. “Samrand Data Centre – Johannesburg, South Africa”

There are actually 2 Samrand DC’s near Johannesburg…the giant (money losing, R2.5 billion) Standard Bank Tier IV one and the smaller (profitable) Hetzner Tier III one. I’m assuming this is the Hetzner one. :)

According to my Traceroute it should be Hetzner.

    • This is correct, we with Hetzner as our upstream.

    How many iPV6? Possible 48/ or /64?

    March 8, 2016 @ 4:59 am | Reply
    • Currently since its OpenVZ we assign IPv6 addresses individually. If you need something more custom in either NZ or ZA location or even a custom KVM please feel free to let us know via ticket

      March 8, 2016 @ 5:17 am | Reply
      • john:

so if I want /48 or /64, can it be assigned w/o charge?

        March 8, 2016 @ 6:38 am | Reply
        • We dont charge extra for IPv6 blocks, however we can only do IPv6 blocks on KVMs (In Both ZA and NZ) and if you wish to go down that route please do email us in with your specs requirements and we will be happy to see what we can do for you

          Cheers

so in your offer(don’t talk about kvm, which is not offered here.), since it is openvz, we’re talking a few ipv6, right?

          • That is correct John.

Why you do not offer KVM in ZA or NZ ?? Will be better deal even if cost more than these OVZ

BW too low for SAR, Hetzner DC offer a better deals

Didn’t get a E5 processor, panel seems to be Proxmox, international bandwidth isn’t that great.

Other than that, the New Zealand VPS is quite sweet.

datacenters hosted in europe usually have low latency for me, but your servers are having a ping of 300+ ms.. when i trace route your nz ip it went thru an australian point..

    why?

    March 14, 2016 @ 1:37 pm | Reply
    • Its a little hard to diagnose when there is a route starting in Aussie.
If you can send us a support ticket with a full trace-route or better yet an MTR running for a few mins so we can look into this.

As a whole, you mention that you get low latency to europe so I assume you are based in EU? ~300ms from EU to NZ is pretty normal and acceptable in most cases.

      Cheers

I had service with Zappie Host for about a year when they were offering their Canada VPS service. Always had fantastic uptime and customer service. Adam is very responsive and helpful when you need any support. Shame they weren’t offering any NA locations as I have had to migrate to a new host, but would’ve stayed with them if I could have.

Definitely give these guys a try if the SA or NZ locations suit your needs. Great pricing and service.

Is this promotion no longer available? I tried to use the code provided and received notification that it has expired. I would like 2 VPS in each of your regions, on two different hardware nodes. Prefer to pay annually.

1.What’s the minimum payment term with the free shirt?
    2. Are VPNs allowed?

I was lucky to get a 1 gig ram box, 3,5$, that is very fair. I can promise that these guys are keeping it running at the top, no downtime, fast loading of webpages ect ect.
Instead of asking all those question, just try it, no one gets poor of spending 2-4$ one single month.
If you dont like it, let it go. I feel good about the people behind and the server is running great..
