I continue to be interested in learning Rust, the programming language that's gaining ascendancy in the systems programming world. I reviewed The Rust Programming Language which is not a bad book but I didn't care for it, for reasons I outlined in a previous post. Since then, I've moved on to Rust Exercises, which a very cool course you can take for free.

One thing I've always found entertaining in technical works is how authors bring in their weird non-technical hobbies and interests as examples. I've learned a lot of random facts just because the author teaching some programming language happened to also be into exotic cooking or had traveled in South America.
