Is there any reason that no free DirectAdmin is offered within the UK location?

Because the DC provides the License not EaseVPS.

Had a few problems with SYN Floods to the Billing Area but this has been resolved, I’ll put up the permanent filtering when I am home.

I guess you brother has no problems to be held liable (piercing corporate veil) as he is a share holder and has installed a underaged director.

But the reality is Low End Providers, Want customers that have prior or atleast some form of basic knowledge with Linux and the enviroment they are working around.

Most people here are either a one man team or a few people, Nothing more.

Just to give you some confidence (I hope) if you choose us, We own our hardware in the UK, Provide fast and quick support, Any issues you have you can always speak to me and I will resolve them.

Depends, in my case Dominic was quite responsive but some answers also took a day. After some initial hickups my machine is up an running like hell. WordPress is running very smoothly, ssh tunnels go up to 10Mbit/s and that’s what counts, if everything is set properly.

I don’t know why but openvpn gives me only 1-2 Mbit/s, same with pptpd. But this is a general problem I have, not only with this machine. I thought my 32MBit/s cable connection would help me squeeze out more…

    June 20, 2012 @ 3:22 pm | Reply
    • The late responses are due to only me working here now, I did have sumesh work on support a couple month back but he went on to do bigger, and better things.

VPS are limited a 100Mbit, Kansas VPS should be able to utilize out 100Mbit without any problems, UK VPS can max out about 80Mbit due to the node being on 100Mbit port.

Considering that, you did a great job, thanks again!

My bandwidth problems are really mine, I’ve experienced that elsewhere too. I’ve tried tweaking but nothing helped so far. According to Google it’s not the only me complaining about openvpn performance. I’m wondering if anyone has an OpenVPN link providing more than ~6MBit/s?

Anyhow UK maintainance went good guys, UK2 Hard Drive replaced, UK1 full Chassis swap which had a new L5420 CPU, I had customised the cabling and added another fan, It should not have cooling issues anymore.

UK1 is currently down as when we swapped the chassis out, The Mac address changed and it is still searching for the old Network adapter(Or something like that, I wasn’t sure on this one, Im not a network guy).

KVM is being put on it within the hour, If it comes before I fall asleep then I can get the node up tonight, Otherwise it will have to be in the morning. It has been a long day today.

It has been a lot longer than 3 hours now. I recommend staying away from these guys.

For those who are following, it’s been a 48-hour downtime. The owner has been completely unresponsive in all this time as well.

Easevps/Jacob = Soon to Be Deadpool. I currently have about 200 vps’s through about 125 providers…..(providers if you don’t see me in your client list please reply with your company info, always looking for more). I can honestly say this is the worst server stability and the worst customer service I have ever seen. To start I originally had 3 servers with Jacob, then one day one of my servers just went away??? No email, no explanation no nothing. So I have 2 now and I send a ticket in only to get Jacob claiming we don’t cancel servers? No regard to the records he can see and the previous emails with server credentials or payments that all show I should have 3 vps servers (GREAT WORK JACOB). So now I just have to accept that I have 2 servers I guess…..case closed. So one day (like 3 days later) my 2 servers are unreachable and again I send in a ticket. The response: Jacob could not see any problems….everything looks good….must be on my end I guess right. So then about a day later I get server set up details from Easevps…..like I just ordered new servers….only I didn’t. Here comes my 2 servers I complained about yesterday that looked fine according to Jacob. Both servers in the same DC and both on the same subnet (not impressed at all) about 4 tickets later instead of changing my IPs to what I needed (different subnets) I am forced to cancel the duplicate subnet server. IF YOU DON’T WANT CUSTOMERS SIMPLY TAKE DOWN YOUR SITE BECAUSE I AM GETTING VERY UPSET WITH YOUR BS AND CHILDISH TACTICS!

P.S. FYI the reason you have soooo many DDOS attacks is because you piss off soooo many customers, providers and competition……they get a vps so they can find your newest IP range and they blast the hell out of it…….treat people right and the attacks will go away. Currently I want a refund for the last month of no service but Jacob claims no. I suggest to all that if you are having issues and he is unwilling to fix it or refund please send your complaints to his payment processing company (2co)….they do not like chargebacks and they should know how Jacob operates (chargebacks come with a $25 fee to the merchant so even if for some reason you loose Jacob does too……I am going to charge back my payment now and send a full report and copies of all correspondences now. Cheers Jacob! :-)

    • Looks like an unfortunate turn of events. Intersting that you are with 125 providers. That must be a big list. I’m sure Jacob is doing all he can to fix things but.

I can completely understand Michael’s frustration having gone through the same events over the past three days.

I was one of the unlucky ones to have a machine from Jacob in Manchester.
They had the problems – ok, we can understand that – but was told that my VPS would be migrated to another hosting centre in Manchester….in a few days.

That didnt happen for a variety of reasons but I did get a notification several weeks later letting me know that my machine had now been migrated to a different location….Jacksonville!
(now my geography isnt as good as most Jacobs…being as he sounds like he is still at school!…but Jacksonville aint nowhere near Manchester!)

So, I now have a functioning machine. That was up until a few days ago.
On November 11, I received the dreaded “Your VPS information” email but wait, my box is working ok and I’ve not asked for another. I logged a call and this is where the beginning of the end starts.
I tell Jacob that the new machine is of no use to me and cannot understand why they have allocated me another box.

    Hello,
Your VPS has been recreated, Your UK IP was previously 46.37.175.132, Do you know what UK node you was located on?

It just makes it easier for me, instead of having to power on all the servers searching for a single hostname.

    Best Regards,
    Jacob R.

Eh - I think you may have confused things here.
The machine was already migrated to 142.54.169.156 some time ago.
So I do not need another - the ticket was in respect of compenstation

    Hello,
I have refunded your recent Invoice to your account credit, I misread the ticket with another one. Let me know if you require further assistance.

    Best Regards,
    Jacob R.

OK – so thats that sorted then…he simply misread the ticket and several days later applied compensation to my account (for the DDoS stuff).

All was good until the morning of November 18
My server then disappeared. I could not get to the SolusVM pages so raised a ticket.
    Apparently,

    Hello,
The solusvm panel webserver crashed, most likely due to a overload of active connections. ie: flood against port 80, but it is now online.

So, I login to the SolusVM panel only to find that my IP address has changed.
After many, many, many more updates to the ticket (including one where I opened another ticket requesting an update….only to be told that “for some strange reason it was not appearing in the ticket queue”) I found myself having to rebuild the system.

Jacob was unable to find any information in the logs pertaining to the service getting ceased and was not able to find the old machine.

I dont believe customer service is the way forward for this team – I guarantee that he’d be fired from McDonalds for the customer service shown to me today

    • Mark, I admit your ticket was not handled the best, neither was michaels but we come to a agreement and hopefully in a few months he will have a more positive review on his service with us.

Like I was explaining over the phone, the original Manchester datacenter (BurstNET) which equipment went in around march time, and then things went sour Late september leading onto october, finally moved out on the 9Th of October. Cab space was provisioned in another manchester datacenter the following week (It was leading onto weekend, so nothing could be done about that). after moving in the equipment 48 hours later there was 4 ddos attacks, within 3Gbit size and UDP/SYN across a whole /24.

Melbourne (The second manchester DC we moved into) served a termination notice of the service.

I will be writing a announcement with a full explanation just to clarify everything. It will include every detail.
