Richard, from ArmorShark, has got this exclusive offer for LowEndBox readers. Contrary to last times, this offer is located in Phoenix, Arizona, where Richard has deployed ArmorShark’s Openstack-based infrastructure! He says he is one of the first deploying this infrastructure within LEB pricing. ArmorShark LLC have been featured on LowEndBox several times before. ArmorShark are based in Richmond, VA and have been in business since September 2012, although Richard has operated under different brands since 2010. ArmorShark’s website explains how they operate ‘environmently-friendly’. Servers will be deployed on new hardware, utilizing the Xeon E3-1245v2 CPU and SSDs in RAID10. Weekly Backups are included, but remember to take your own as well! I haven’t been able to find any recent reviews, so feel free to share your experiences you may have with them.

Hi Preston,
The coupons started working at 12AM EST. The post has been updated with monthly and annual coupons.
Hi,
Coupon will work in 1 hour.
$1 off?
When applied monthly, the coupon is $1 off recurring. When applied yearly to PHO 512 and 1024, the coupon is $26 and $22 off recurring, respectively.
Nope, its showing $1 off both monthly and annual payment terms.
“This coupon cannot be applied to your order”
Ordering PHO 512 on monthly basis
“This coupon cannot be applied to your order”
Ordering PHO 1024 on monthly basis (duh!!)
@Nick: Please use “LET512” and “LET1024” for annual discount.
@Asim: I updated the coupon. Please check now with “LETBOOM” for monthly discount.
FreeBSD 10 images are available on PHO 1024 packages and higher. They will require initial setup, but at no extra charge.
Nice. Any plan for Gentoo image on PHO 1024 and higher?
Why is FreeBSD only on 1GB+ RAM VPSes? FreeBSD uses less memory than Linux does. I have it on a few servers and it barely uses 100mb of RAM
i have fbsd running on a few 64mb ram vps (i assume they’re using a image with zfs?)… also misleading that it’s available in the OS selection dropdown for the 512mb packages… i have a 256mb ram single core xeon from amerinoc that’s ran fbsd10 for the better part of 2 years… i __love__ companies that have offers with information that WHEN SELECTED ends up not being accurate/correct (not)
i meant to say fbsd for the better part of 2 years. fbsd10 hasn’t been out for 2 years. my bad
No problem Mike. I upgraded you to the PHO 1024 plan and you can use FBSD now.
Is the power unshared or actual 1Gbps link per person?
I doubt you will get a dedicated port for this price.
Can I get a speedtest from a current customer?
Coupon does not work with yearly plans.
Please use “LET512” for PHO 512 annual and “LET1024” for PHO 1024 annual.
doesn’t work either.
Check that you are using the correct coupon codes. Buying the PHO 512 package annually requires “LET512” coupon and PHO 1024 requires “LET1024” coupon. If you still can’t get it to work, you can just submit an order without paying, and I’ll modify the pricing manually if you send in a ticket.
hello,
can we do a bulk mail sending with this?
thanks
We take spam complaints seriously. If you’re not spamming, we’ll allow it.
I’ve used this merchant VPS, VPS performance is also good, but the only downside is that a lot of the control panel BUG, such as modifying RootPassword, each complete system reinstall all the wrong password, and reset will not work, but to the invoice help, but I also Diuguo data on this business
System reloads inject the correct password now. As for modifying the root password, it is indeed possible via the VNC Console. We are working on a simpler solution.
Coupon does not wor

That image on your web site resembles whale hunting, at least that’s what it made me think of.
Looks great, but I ran a WHOIS and says the domain is for sale on SEDO? http://whois.domaintools.com/armorshark.com – just make me a bit wary signing up
I’ll investigate this. Please be assured, our domain is certainly not for sale. :)
Will you permit other O/S, if provided of course a proper ISO?
It depends on the ISO. Not every ISO is compatible with Openstack. You can send in a ticket with more information about the ISO or a link and we can let you know.
I’ve used ArmorShark before and tested this new deployment in Arizona. I’ve got nothing but good things to say. Reasonably responsive tech support and great hardware.
Richard has been developing this product for just shy of 6 months, and it has gone through a lot of testing since I’ve been able to use it.
Thanks for your support Chase. Great customer.
Most recent build of Ubuntu you have available is 12 and no IPv6 yet?
I am concerned to this as well
Can i run windows in this kvm ?
The OS selection is quite limited and confusing. What is Debian 7 v2? 32-bit or 64-bit? Where’s archlinux, mint, Gentoo, Slackware, openSUSE
And the bandwidth mix Tinet+ HE + Cogent is probably not the best option out there. Ping from a HE east coast customer gets 70ms+ latency because the traffic got routed from HE to Tinet. HE east coast to HE Phoenix NAP should be well below 50ms.
is this only for first year or recurring?
The discounts are recurring.
glad to hear that. this coupon is still available in july?
The coupon may not be available, but if you send in a ticket after signup, I’ll be able to offer you the discount.
Richard, it is great to hear that the passwords issue is resolved. Too bad it came after I had to cancel my service.
Thanks for your support. I hope you’ll consider our service again in the future.
Looking to run Windows.
Can I run Windows on your setup? If not, any suggestions?
Thanks!
Unfortunately, you cannot at this time.
Hi,
is the activation instantaneous?
And also, are personal pptp and TUN/TAP allowed?
Thanks.
Yes, yes, and yes.
My (and many others I think) experience was horrible with them: http://lowendbox.com/blog/christmas-armorshark-48year-2gb-kvm-and-more-in-dallas-and-phoenix/
Had to dispute the payment!
Seems that most of the bad experiences revolved around about a day or more of downtime for some people’s VPS. They fired the guy who was responsible for those VPS’s, so I’m ready to give them a shot.
At least I was until I placed an order and it was immediately marked as Fraud and cancelled. I started a ticket, hopefully it gets resolved, this seems like a great deal.
Hey John,
I replied to your ticket.
We’re working with highly-complex software and we ran into some last minute technical issues. We fixed the issues, as evidenced by a lack of complaints in this thread. And the bottom-line is that everyone who was affected by issues with that launch received a refund.
I will probably cancel this service it has some old hardware see picture. I just hope I will get my money back. I can pick only pre-set Linux installation. I would like to have encrypted disk, dont know how to access kvm I get straight to console in debian no other option available.

I just got my funds back, so they keep their promise (Money-Back Guarantee in 48-h after you purchase). I was disappointed in this service it just don’t have options which are polished enough to make costumer to be satisfy (don’t mention this Xeon E3-1245v2 CPU thing). I hope someone will have better luck with them.
I cancelled my service in less than 24 hrs I activated the VPS. Have yet to receive any refund back.
I got my refund back as per advertised.
I went ahead and made a bet that they would be decent. I bought their yearly service for 512MB RAM.
I was lucky, seems like they upgraded my account (to 1GB ram, same price).
The server has been flawless. Connections speeds are great and 0 downtime since I’ve had it (for the past week or so).
Hoping it will stay this great! I recommend, especially for the price. Seems like they had a previous bad rep, and are trying to turn it around.
Server paid, unable to connect, slowwwwww respond on ticket (934485)
I got reply of the support ticket within 1 day and 5 hours. Thanks.
After ordering and paying my debt with paypal I got IP-Address 10.0.0.95 and Password. Unable to connect. No respond to my mails/requests. No cash refund. Poor service, as far as I can say. At the moment I still don’t want to say “scam”.
That sounds like your IP address on the private network. You’ll need to figure out what corresponding IP address has been assigned to your VM on external network, unless panel for some reason doesn’t display it.
Same for me, got assigned an internal IP address, nothing showing the external ip on the control panel, no response from support ( 18 hours and counting)…
Hi,
We are currently disabling new orders. It may be several days before we will start provisioning existing orders. We are processing any refunds if this is an issue.
Can you provide CoreOS as a template?
Bought a VPS for USD24, the server went offline after a few days. There seems to be a problem with the DHCP on the network, so restarting via control panel does not help. So far, Armorshark does not react to support tickets as well (ticket created over 20 hours ago).
Would not recommend due to poor support (may be, too busy selling ? )
We addressed this issue. I’m looking into hiring additional help for faster response speeds, but usually you’ll hear back from us quickly.
The issue was addressed only partially, DNS assigned to the network card was not resolving, so I manually added 8.8.8.8
Hello, I tried the PHO 512 without luck :( The discount is still available? Can not select the 512 option on sidebar. I need a cheap FreeBSD VPS with perfect online support. Can you advise one for me? I have a Linux VPS at WeLoveServers, I need a similar reliable for FreeBSD.
Three weeks and server is still pending (Pheonix 512). Starting to get the feeling they oversold and are having trouble getting additional machines into the datacenter. Because really it doesn’t take that long to roll out an installation on hardware. Virtualized or not. Over a week before for any response on a ticket and even then I think it was just a script sending out an automated response.
To be honest I’m feeling like best option is to have paypal step in and do charge back. One more week, and then I’m through with this “company”.
Hi Steve,
I’m very sorry for the delay. It looks like your tickets were incorrectly marked as completed. Please email me directly at admin at armorshark dot com if you have any additional issues.
Richard Leik,Do you have any evidence for your word that I send DdoS attacks? I use your vps no more than 1 hours, your server’s DNS not work even apt-update,I send 2 tickets for refund winth in 48 hours,Why you said that Ddos words?
Our server DNS certainly does work. I have gone ahead and issued the refund.
If you had sent in a ticket, we could have helped you.
I sent 2 tickets for refund within 48 hours! False response,You use your VPS to send DdoS attacks, and then expect a refund? ! Do you have any evidence for your word?
Hello, the Coupon (annual): LET512 is working now…but FreeBSD disappeared from the template :(((( ???
Hi Csaba,
Please send in a ticket, we can set it up manually for you after you sign up for the PHO 512.
Is the LET1024 deal still available? I am unable to apply it to my order.
Derp, pebcak. Nothing to see here move along. Needed to make sure I was selecting the annual pricing.
Can you somehow install other distros on the KVM VPSs? The current list is looking a bit sparse (I’m thinking Arch).
Armorshark: very slooww response on ticket.
http://imgur.com/sO1Cgyd
I recently purchased a vps from armorshark and was unable to access it all support tickets have gone unanswered and so far I have been unable to get a refund
very sloow response on ticket(2-5 days). and always can’t work properly( 2-3 times breakdown in 1 month )
Good comments guys for helping to keep the community safe. It’s very hard to offer any kind of service for this price point especially with OpenStack.
Stay away from this guy. My VPS was offline and it was at least 4 days before I finally got a reply telling me the VPS needed to be rebuilt. The VPS was unable to be accessed externally but I could access the VPS through the control panel and access the internet from there. I rebuilt the VPS and then a short time later, the same thing happened. I didn’t get one email from when he replied to the ticket either because he’s too incompetent to configure HostBill to send email correctly.
And in case 4 days wasn’t bad enough to wait for a response, I responded asking him to just cancel my VPS back on September 15 and I still have yet to get a reply or my VPS cancelled.
I ordered a server from Richard in July. I’ve only had 6 days of uptime since. It’s been completely down since October 10th. I put in a support ticket, Richard responded 3 days later with “Sorry for the delay. We are investigating this and will get back to you.” I still haven’t heard from him. Every ticket I’ve put in since ordering, which have been a total of 6, have always had slow responses. I closed 3 of them just because I got tired of waiting. In one response he gave me his Skype address because he was having problems with the ticket system. I Skyped him October 10th several times and he hasn’t responded to that either.
Long story short, this guy is a scam. I’ve asked for refunds several times and haven’t heard anything.
Maarten, you might want to remove links to his site before he cons other people out of money.
It seems that Armorshark is totally gone — their web site no longer responds, and my virtual server seems to have disappeared. This is a real shame as I was running a nonprofit website there and now it seems the site and its data are vanished. :-(
I had ArmorShark for about a year and really liked the two VPS’ I had for the price. I paid something like $5.50/mo for a 2GB VPS with 4x CPU. It was incredible. I also had the VPS get completely wiped at least twice if not three times. After the first time, losing the data didn’t really sting that badly as I almost anticipated it would happen. I stopped paying him a few weeks ago because I was tired of having to reload the VPS all the time. I had decent uptime, though, I was at his ReliableSite location and didn’t really put a lot of load on the services. Something like 95% over the course of the year? Whatever the case, it was an amazing price for the services I received.
Anyway, out of curiosity I just looked the website up and found it was unreachable. Still unreachable I guess now a week later. Poor Richard. It was a good run.

OS Hi Team,
We are looking to expand our cloud setup at Cavisson for that we need cloud machines located within the USA. We use the setup to do QA test which involves sending/receiving http and https traffic up to 300 MBPS.
Our requirements and queries for the service are as below
Server Requirements
OS : Ubuntu 12.04 LTS server
RAM : 16G (minimum)
HDD : 1TB
CPU : 8*1600MHZ (minimum)
Bandwidth : Upto 1 GBPS
Queries
1) What is the biggest server configuration available?
2) Do we have to just shutdown or have to actually delete the server to incur no cost?
3) Can we store a snapshot of the server so that next time we create it easily ?
4) For an account is a dedicated IP address assigned that we can reuse every time we create a server? In other words, does the IP persist with the account even when the server is deleted?
If yes, how many IP address are allocated to each account? Can we buy more IPs?
5) How many server locations do you have in the USA?
Please respond with your answers and your quote ASAP.
Thanks & Regards
