Ryan, from CatalystHost, has recently sent in several offers to celebrate their expansion into Seattle, WA, USA. And these are not just any offers; all servers in Seattle come with 10Gbps uplink! CatalystHost has been featured several times in the past and are well-known around here and on LowEndTalk. They have been around since early 2011, when it was started by two friends; one of those friends launched the e-mail service MXRoute last year and focuses on that right now. Each plan comes with free DNS Hosting and a weekly off-site backups. They’re using dual E5 Intel Xeon CPUs with a minimum of 64GB of RAM and 4 to 8 hard drives in RAID in their host nodes. They own their own IPs, meaning no renumbering issues or anything, and allowing them to offer native IPv6. Their network blend comes from Incero in both locations. Reviews for Catalyst are always very good, but we’re always looking for more opinions on them, so feel free to share!

All servers come with double bandwidth for a limited time!
CatalystHost acceptss payments via PayPal, Credit/Debit Cart, and Google Wallet. Servers will be provisioned instantly. They’re using A+B power for redundancy in case of power outages, which are rare in Dallas. For more information, take a look at their Terms of Service or Acceptable Usage Policy.

I’ve got one Mini with unlimited bandwidth (actually limited, 333TB! LOL). It’s a perfect option for my proxy purpose, Shadowsocks and VPN. Great up time!
Have a test ip in seattle?
I get it:
lgdal.catalysthost.com
lgsea.catalysthost.com
This is a decently sized test file to really see the speed ramp up.
wget -O /dev/null http://10gseattle.incero.com/Sintel.2010.1080p.mkv
Just to let everyone know ahead of time, IPV6 is currently not available in Seattle, however it should be up and running in next few weeks. When setup we will notify everyone as well as provide additional IPV6 for the delay.
Any chance I could get on whatever list you have so that I can know when you have IPv6 in Seattle?
Yea, just open a sales ticket. Should be in a few weeks. Dallas is currently available.
(I just signed up in your client area so you actually have my address :)
Just to be clear, what is advertised is 10Gig port connectivity on Host Node. This is not a guarantee that your connection will ever see 10Gig. This is also a shared port, however this being said this means you have more headroom to burst high speeds than you would on a 1Gig shared port. Keep in mind the speeds that you burst depend on the connectivity to other servers and the network infrastructure in-between. The normal VPS Bench from FreeVPS is not capable of bursting over 1Gig. Here is a sample wget from a test server inside the Data Center. As you can see, the server is capable of reaching much higher port speed than a 1Gig port. So far this is the best result I have received from Free VPS Bench. So I will go ahead and post it here for those interested before buying.

I can only imagine you have lots of tickets complaining that “My vps doesn’t get 10gbit to XXX I want a refund.”
Nah, just like to be transparent for those who want more information.
That’s suprising!
Anybody who has worked for you knows about your transparency
Just remove their admin credentials, act dumb and password reset confirms account disabled
Have to knock Corey off his high horse
I’m totally confused wailin, didn’t realize I was on any high horse, just talking with ryan about his customers. I removed someones admin credentials to something?
Oh – I meant to him… that it’s suprising his customers don’t complain. I just reread and saw that you thought I meant it was suprising the liked to be transparent…… not the case…. jeez….
Bought Tall (V2) with discount, been a while since i had a server, but as starting with my bussines very soon i want to give it a go, i read few positive reviews, will see how it goes in few months ill write review my self :)
Awesome, we would love for more people to review us.
due to how fiber optics work doing 10 files at once will get a more true speed due to load banalning between fiber optics. :)
That makes sense! If I get one i will try downloading more files! thanks
Great service from a great guy! We all love you Ryan.
Ouch Oktay.
I love you, too, you pie!
Hi Ryan, simply awesome offer! Didn’t see such nice long time. However I have Bitcoins only to pay – do you accept it? Would love to order one VPS and run Bitccoin node to support Bitcoin, as I’m always doing. Other hostings have implemented Bitpay.com WHCMS gateway, so customers pay in BTC and you’re getting USD and the fee is million times lower than PayPal/CC. ;-)
We will look into this, open a ticket and we would be happy to update you if this becomes available.
We will give bit pay a trial run. I have enabled this for the month of July.
Ryan,
all the plans are showing incorrect bandwidth allocation on the order page. Grande page is also not showing cores and ram + bw as advertised :) Just thought it would help.
Looks like the LEB Posting is wrong. The Grande plan should have 2CPU Cores. The RAM is correct on the order page. Only people who use the LEBSEATTLE promo code are privileged to the EXTRA 1GB of RAM on the Grande plan. This 1GB is added manually after order. I will see if Maarten can correct that. As for the other plans I will correct the bandwidth.
Should be all accurate now as to what you see on the order form with the exception of the EXTRA 1GB
cool, cheers! love you guys
Who are these guys?
Kidding :) I’m a big fan. After 2 years experience of being LEB/LET community member, I say Catalyst is one of the best host out there!
LOL Who is this guy? He has been a client every since he signed up with a fake alias to do this review back in March of 2013. Man did he have us fooled. If you are looking for a review it is a good read. http://www.96mb.com/96mb-low-end-vps-community-member-review-part-2-catalystvps-openvz/ JCaleb is a great guy and we are thrilled he always has good things to say about us :D
I have been with many hosts and boy do i not love catalyst host. :). Have been with them since their last promotion here on LEB , got the mini box in the Dallas location.
Ryan is a great guy and has always been helpful , Thank you. :-) .. Great Uptime , Great Network , Great I/O and Great Support. So if you are looking for some serious hosting Catalyst Host is your choice and you will never be sorry about it.
And i can see the the I/O dd is 600+ MB now WOW. Everything always worked perfectly , so never got went back to see how it was performing. but that is great.
Your results differ greatly from that of the host node that you are on. I will do some investigating. I like to be pro-active when I see results like this on that bench.sh script.
hmmm? unmetered on mini plan in SEA pls
Open a ticket and I will see what I can do for you. The 333TB promo was from our last LEB offer and was Limited Time and Exclusive.
Which plans had that promo?
Mini had that promo, however that expired back in January. http://lowendbox.com/blog/christmas-catalyst-host-openvz-deals-from-12-and-up-including-an-unmetered-in-dallas/
I wish I had seen that offer in the past. That extra bandwidth would have been nice to have, hehehe. Other than that, all I can say is that the quality of the server and the service is truly remarkable and excellent. Thumbs up to you guys and to Ryan.
Hey Ryan. I’m not yet a CatalystHost customer but would be very interesting in signing up for the Mini Seattle package with unlimited bandwidth (or the 333TB or whatever) if you could let me know if this is possible :) Thanks!
-Jamie M.
(P.S. If the price is higher for the “unlimited” add-on no problem!)
Any idea when Ubuntu 14.04 x64 willbe available ?
Ubuntu 14.04 is already available and has been available.
I don’t see Ubuntu as a choice in the Product Configuration for micro or demi. How do we get Ubuntu?
Ubuntu is an option in the Control Panel. I will check to see why it is not an option on the order form.
Hi, that mini instance seems interesting for non-US residents for prxy/vpn use. How is it with NAT and PPP kernel modules and TUN/TAP device?
All kernel modules are enabled.
Do you offer monthly rates? Or possible couple day free trial?
The Micro plan can be purchased for $2 Month. That is the lowest we offer monthly. We don’t do free trials due to abuse.
I don’t know about their OpenVZ package, i’ve tasted their KVM, though it was not for a long time but the performance was good. Here is the review:
http://vpsfrenzy.com/review/catalyst-host-kvm-review
Got my order in less than minute, also submitted a ticket#519061 about a weak password in ssh and Ryan was so kind in helping me. Now my vps is working fine and fast. Thanks a lot Ryan, you’re really great…..
Thanks Wendell, Appreciate the kind words!
All I can say is that the quality of the server and the service is truly remarkable and excellent. Thumbs up to you guys and to Ryan. They hold the top place of my top 3 vps favorite providers.
I signed up for a year of a Demi VPS.
The node was set up instantly.
I had some problems since I am new to VPS servers and submitted a ticket.
Ryan responded within minutes and not only told me what I was doing wrong, but also installed everything for me!
I still had more problems installing mySQL and Ryan found the problem, fixed it and then told me what he did to fix it. (I never would have figured it out.)
Mind you that none of the issues I had had anything to do with the VPS. It was just my inexperience for the most part. The VPS was working properly the whole time.
I can’t believe how great the service is for such a low price. The server is running great now.
Thanks Ryan!
No problem Darin, Always happy to help point people in the right direction.
He’s like… the superman support guy, and all other support guys should strive to be as awesome as him.
I was quizzing him on many things, like VPNs, and how the heck I set all the IPTables crud. He pretty much explained it all, or had links to guide me through it. I kinda feel sleazy paying him just $12/yr. But it does mean I’ll probably keep that VPS… well… forever. His awesomeness seems to be winning a lot of people over. :P

Hi Ryan, this is the time I sign up a VPS, and I have no idea what I am doing.
My account is set up. What do I do next? Do I need to install the operating system? How?
Or, do you have any information for total beginner like me to read over so I can learn more?
Thank you very much.
I would recommend using great resources like Lowendtalk.com or VPSBoard.com
Reading the rave reviews, but still being sceptic and wasn’t expecting much, but I bought the Tall (V2)anyway, and was I in for a surprise. The performance are comparable to higher end boxes, in fact better, and Ryan replied to ticket within minutes. Will be keeping this one.
Thanks, Glad we could exceed your expectations.
Not sure how to avail of this offer …
The plans already include the double bandwidth. Originally these plans have 2TB Bandwidth. So 4TB is Double
Seems like they have no connectivity in INDIA, as after vps provision i can connect to it from here :(
Did you open a support ticket? I can assure you we have connectivity to everywhere that has internet ;)
Nevermind, you are correct we don’t allow connectivity to India for clients where illegal intent is involved. Shortly after signing up your VPS was suspended to protect our other clients using their services in the appropriate way,
This 2GB for $7 promo will be dropped when no longer on the front page of LEB. So if you are on the fence about any of the plans I would act now.
Hi, currently both Tall (V2) and Grande (V2) seem to be “Out of Stock” for the Seattle data center. Is there an ETA when these are available again?
I restock this periodically, we have large amount of fraud that takes away stock. I replenish when I go through orders that did not get completed.
hey Ryan,
I bought Seattle mini yesterday. here my result. is this normal speed?

Yes, this is normal to other 1Gig test servers. If you would like to see higher speeds, use other servers to test against that are 10Gig capable.
was thinkin bout tryin um but no ircd kills it for me
After a year service, will it renew at the same price year after year or are you going to inflate the prices? I’m looking at one of your higher end offers but I want to know what I’m likely to face in a year.
We don’t raise our prices. Just not how we do business.
I just ordered a “Grande” package, with the “LEBSEATTLE” code. Provisioning was nearly instant, billing was flawless. However, the advertisement here on LEB says that for that special, for the GRANDE server offering only, there is a free “+1G RAM” added to the order. That extra RAM is not appearing in my control panel. Ryan, can you fix this?
Looking forward to Catalyst. The speed seems great!
Forrest
Did you open a ticket?
Ryan, I just ordered and paid for a “GRANDE” package. The provisioning was wonderfully fast…and my payment is completed. I used the “LEBSEATTLE” coupon code. However, the server does not have the “+1 Gb RAM” addon that is advertised in the Grande (v2) listing on this page. I filed a ticket on this. Can you please fix this, I’m looking forward to my new OpenVZ server and trrying out Catalyst as a backup server for my other Westin boxes.
Thank you,

Did you open a ticket?
It looks like Grande is no longer in stock on seattle.. is this going to change, or is this going to be deleted on that part?
This will be updated on Friday
mini in Seattle will be available again?
Keep checking :D
Looks like all of them are out of stock right now. Will you restock?
We have been restocking, just keep checking in :D
@Ryan Arp
I am speechless
I am about 3 year old on LEB, and I have ordered many vps from many top providers,
Never been marked as abusive or fraud,
But unfortunately your system, declare me as a fraud, first ever time in my life,
Can you please tell me what fraud i did ?

35MB/s (280mbps) for the Seattle server, much more decent.
Fixed this :D There was an issue with our LG for the longest time.
