Secure Dragon has been around for quite a long time now and Joe was helping out LowEndAdmin during the first years of the website. He was even one of the first LET members on Vanilla. He has been slowly building and expanding his business which now spreads across a whopping nine US locations. On top of that, they have their custom control panel called Wyverin (which is being continuously improved), they own all their servers in all locations, and they get their IPs from ARIN. Reviews are predominantly very positive and I can attest to that myself. If you are currently a customer at Secure Dragon or decide to pick up one of these boxes as a result of this post, please let us know how things go!

Secure Dragon is a registered business in Florida, USA and has been since 2010. There’s a 30-day money back guarantee, though it’s only valid for the first 30 days of a client account. Servers include free weekly offsite backups and are hosted on host nodes with hardware RAID with battery backup. There’s a 99.9% monthly uptime guarantee in place with credits in case they fail to meet that (excludes planned maintenance). Payment can be made with PayPal, Bitcoin, and credit cards.

For all details about what’s allowed and now, please read their Terms of Service, Acceptably Use Policy, and Privacy Policy!

    • We have some promo codes floating around somewhere. I don’t honestly know which ones are active though so you’ll need to do the legwork yourself. ;)

        Nice one :-D

@Paké Maryam: Joe didn’t submit this offer, so there’s no coupons involved from our end. Just listing a provider with a solid offering within LowEnd price range; a provider that hasn’t been listed for a while at that.

I had a few little boxes with them, for a year. Very stable, solid and great prices. Recommend them all the way!

I also have a small VPS from SecureDragon and it’s working very well. Recommended.
By the way Maarten good job. The old LowEndAdmin used to do these posts by his own research, i am glad to see this tradition back.

One of the worst VPS services I have ever dealt with. Secure Dragon are an active opponent of the use of any anonymizing proxy services, so if you are looking to build any sort of application or service that requires a high level of security and/or privatization steer far clear of this company. Clearly the word “secure” in their company name is supposed to be a joke, or more likely a clear attempt at being actively misleading. To top matters off their customer service representatives are offensive and condescending, and take an openly strong stance against free speech, the respect of basic civil liberties, or any notion of the right to privacy. If you’re looking for a good hosting company that offers far better services, a wider selection of global data centers, better uptime, higher performance, and top notch customer service go with Digital Ocean, Rackspace Cloud, or Linode.

    • I’m sorry that you disagree with our Terms of Service, but please read them carefully before signing up because we don’t hide anything before you order. I’m not going to argue about how we’re on the internet and the rights and liberties you mention don’t apply, I will point to our Privacy Policy that is extremely straight forward which we do take seriously. As for your comments about me being offensive and condescending, I’ll let others decide that on their own since you didn’t feel like posting the whole story and are forcing my hand in this matter.

  9. Thanks MK for posting this offer, we appreciate being noticed and we know you wouldn’t have posted this if you weren’t satisfied with our service so we’re happy about that. Thanks everybody else for the kind words about our service, we love getting feedback. :)

@Jason, I have plans to launch our services outside of the US in the future but that is much much further down the road since we are currently focusing on replacing our older hardware which is a costly investment so it may not be until next year when we explore other locations.

I’ve been using SecureDragon since Nov. 2012. A+. I like the Los Angeles and Denver locations the best (for connectivity to Asia).

An excellent provider, my choice in the US (i’m European). I’ve been one of their first customers, and i tested a few different locations, xen and openvz servers. Joe is honest even when talking about problems, upgrades, downtimes and does an excellent job keeping nodes fast and stable.

JoeD where have the 32MB plans gone? ;)
still a client of your shared plans :)

    June 2, 2015 @ 3:12 am | Reply
    • With our new servers we have plenty of RAM available so we lowered the price of our 64MB plan to what the 32MB plans used to cost to offer more resources for the same price. We didn’t want to offer anything smaller than $9.99/year so we just dropped the 32MB plan.

These guys actively scan running processes on your server, anything they remotely don’t like and they will delete your server with all your data and keep the money.

Huge invasion of privacy, shady business practices would never recommend to anyone.

THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE. THEY WIRETAP ALL THEIR CLIENTS AND MONITOR YOUR COMMUNICATIONS. WHO KNOW’S WHAT ELSE THESE CRIMINALS ARE UP TO WITH YOUR DATA!
