Another new provider post — Scott from Arabica Hosting emailed me their LowEndBox special on their OpenVZ plans. Use coupon code LOWENDBOX to get 50% off recurring discount. That means “VPS128” — $2.50/month, “VPS256” — $3.75/month and “VPS512” — $4.50/month. Direct link to sign up VPS512, and this is what you will get
- 512MB guaranteed/1280MB burstable memory
- 40GB storage
- 500GB/month data transfer
- 1x vCPU core
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Servers in New Jersey according to Scott’s email, but test IP wasn’t included.Domain was registered last month, makes it a very new provider. Sign up links (ClientExec) weren’t using SSL, although SSL works using an invalid certificate.

LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
another one with the same bloody free template?
Yeah, again
Saw that template with like 2-3 hosts
To keep up with the demand we’ve had we’re adding another server to our lineup.
If your account hasn’t been provisioned yet, it’s because we flagged them to not go onto a node that was beginning to get full already. They’ll all be provisioned within the next few hours when the newest server comes online.
If you have any questions feel free to ask here.
Thanks!
What datacenter is this and maybe owner can post with test IP + File.
The newest server that will be up tonight is in Florida. Trying to distribute where we have things. I’ll put up some test files tonight. One of the IP’s in NJ is 99.192.245.102.
I get oddly high ping to it from my server at voxel in NY, and traceroute says ‘mia2’? Also, what is kazetech.com?
That’s actually an incorrect IP… I copied it from the wrong window I was working in. One in nJ is 66.23.237.154. Sorry about that…
VPS128 is hot! For $30/year (payed $2.5/month): 128 RAM/1GB burstable, 20 GB HDD
How to order? I can only see monthly option.
Would you prefer to pay yearly? I’ll add the option in the billing system if you’d like.

Tested with 128/1G plan, the I/O speed goes between 35-38mb/s, could be improved.
Server spec is Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E31220 @ 3.10GHz , 4 cores
Fast ticket response, not familiar with ClientExec, but after a while, it was simple.
for $2.50, I’d recommend this box.
Good deal.
Sound amusing.
128 with 1gb burstable ?
can anyone show the server performance ? i/o or speed maybe..
[root@ ~]# dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
16384+0 records in
16384+0 records out
1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 32.3965 seconds, 33.1 MB/s
It’s not burstable, it’s swap memory, centos 6 backbone probably,
Thats a little low, is the I/O capped?
No, we are not capping the I/O. We’re working on this and hope to get it resolved as quickly as possible.
I found out they support TUN/TAP, that’s great.
is there any money back option
Yes, We will offer you 100% of your money back if your not satisfied with our services.
there is no yearly option here ha can u keep it
I’ll add a yearly billing option, but at the moment we’re struggling to keep up with the current demand and are busy restocking our VPS’s. We should have more available within the next few days.
If you have any questions, feel free to direct them directly to me at scott [at] arabicahosting.com

Scott
