GetMyVPS - $4.95 256MB Xen VPS in Kansas City

Stewart from GetMyVPS sent me some once off discount coupons for their Xen HVM plans. Coupon code lebvps1 gets you 20% off first month only over their everyday price, which starts from $4.95/month for the “VPS-1” plan. You get

  • 256MB memory
  • 15GB storage
  • 300GB/month data transfer
  • 1x IPv4 + 10x IPv6
  • Xen HVM/SolusVM

Only PayPal is accepted. Coupon code is only available for the first 10 new customers, although there appears only 3 “VPS-1” slots available. Servers with Wholesale Internet in Kansas City MO (test IP: 69.30.209.10). Do note that from its ToS/AUP, IRC is not allowed and “links to unacceptable content” is also prohibited (be careful if you are hosting user-generated or scrapped content).

As of GetMyVPS, Stewart first started it a year ago, and pulled out on the same day the offer was posted. He relaunched it in June with little fanfare — actually no comment at all regarding his service. It’s based in Australia, part of AlfaHostsGroup, and could very well be just an after-class project of a few high school students..

  1. Thanks for posting our offer.

Just to note, we aren’t treating GMV as “an after-class project”. We are taking this as a serious business and we aren’t in it just to make money. If you want more information about our operation or how we can service your business, please contact me (http://www.getmyvps.com/aboutus/contact)

Can I trust my data with high school students?

    • I’m sorry that you feel that you cannot trust us with your data. My team and I are working hard to ensure we provide the best possible service to our customers. Age shouldn’t matter if service is good and we are taking the business seriously (which we are).

Legally you cannot enter binding contracts so what if you magically disappear one day? Sorry but I’ve been ripped off by kiddie hosts in the past.

        • I’ve been running AlfaHosts since 2007 – it’s still here…. By the way, high school student doesn’t been < 18. I am 18, so it's binding.
