LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

LibrePlanet (the FSF Conference) One Week From Today - and it's Free (as in Beer)!

If you don’t have plans for next weekend (March 20-21), you might consider attending LibrePlanet, an annual conference held by the Free Software Foundation.  Because of COVID-19, LibrePlanet is once again being held virtually this year, and there is no charge for attending.  There are optional tiers of donation but you can attend all the events for free.

The FSF is the guardian of Gnu software and has published some of the most important tools and utilities that you likely use every day on your Linux (or even Mac/Windows) system.  LibrePlanet is their annual conference and this year’s event will include

  • A focus on “right to repair” including a presentation from iFixit founder Kyle Wiens
  • A discussion on the first lawsuit filed against FOSS software for patent infringement
  • An update on the FSF’s high priority projects, which is their list of what software the libre software movement needs the most
  • Over 40 other talks and presentations on topics including anti-surveillance technology, hardware driver open sourcing, educational software, case studies of free software in use, and more

Visit the LibrePlanet home page to register and attend.

    • Do not use LowEndBox for support issues. Go to your hosting provider and issue a ticket there. Coming here saying "my VPS is down, what do I do?!" will only have your comments removed.
    • Akismet is used for spam detection. Some comments may be held temporarily for manual approval.
