No Support Linux Hosting announced today that they have been hacked and can no longer operate. According to an announcement on their web site:
No Support Linux Hosting is Shutting Down
On February 8, 2021, a hacker successfully compromised all the servers we use to operate our business including the No Support Linux Hosting web site, Admin section, and our customer database. We can no longer operate the No Support Linux Hosting business.
All customers should immediately download backups of their websites and databases through cPanel.
Thank you to all our customers for the many years of business. We appreciate it.
They had an interesting business model. As the name implies, they provided no support (though their FAQ said they did provide help if it was a problem with their servers or network). Customers paid $1/mo to host a single web site with cPanel. They provided excellent step-by-step tutorials on their site but otherwise, the user was on his own.
This business model was successful. They’ve been around since 2010 (11+ years). Their offerings weren’t meant for the typical savvy LEB/LET reader, but it appealed to the average guy who knows a little WordPress and doesn’t want to pre-pay for three years at $7-10/mo for a brochure site at one of the big hosts.
This attack may have been part of a pattern of larger attacks.
Always sad to see a host go under. Best wishes to the NSLH crew on their next adventure.

Not only “No Support”, but “No backups” too? :))))
Hi, Andrew. I’m a former No Support Linux user who (probably, based your profile photo and name) knows you personally from a mutual former employer. Seeing you here supporting LowEndBox just significantly boosted its likelihood of becoming my new hosting platform.
