Updated December 2011 — According to this WHT thread SlickWebHost has terminated all their services as they can no longer sustain it.

SlickWebHost SlickWebHost emailed me their current promotion posted on WHT. Use promo code BudgetVPS-15% to get 15% off recurring discount from their budget VPS plans. Their 64MB package starts at $2.20/month, and “Mini” for $5.53/month after the discount. Order it with this link.

  • 256MB guaranteed/384MB burstable memory
  • 40GB storage
  • 400GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/vePortal

Servers with BurstNET in Scranton PA. IRC and torrent are not allowed. Domain registered by someone in Romania on the April Fools day this year — so I presume leased servers from Burst rather than colo their own servers. Owner also runs some seedbox, proxy and game servers business on a different alias on WHT.

The original owner of LowEndBox known as "LowEndAdmin" or "LEA" for short founded LowEndBox in 2008 and created the concept of hosting applications on low resource "Low End Boxes". After creating the roots of the community that we know today, "LEA" stepped aside and allowed others to carry the torch forward.

    • *shrug* It’s ok. Some of the promotional text is actually images. Kind of annoying.

Their ToS mentions that adult material is allowed but can;t be the main purpose of the site. Their “Grounds for Suspension and Termination” dupes a couple of times. Proxies have to be password protected.

      • Just found this:

        * Using the Service to operate server programs, including, but not limited to mail servers, IRC servers, game servers, ftp servers, Web servers, or streaming audio/video servers.

I’m assuming that the ToS is more for shared hosting although I don;t see mention of what’s allowed for VPSes.

        No refunds for VPSes too.
