UPDATE: Versatile IT has been purchased by Cloud Shards. Please contact them with any questions regarding Versatile IT.
Brendan, from Versatile IT, has go three offers for us today located at the VirtBiz datacenter in Dallas, Texas.
Versatile IT 128MB
| Versatile IT 256MB
| Versatile IT 512MB
|
Update: You need to use the coupon code $10PERYEAR to get the 128MB plan for $10/Year.
This is the first time that we have featured Versatile IT. As mentioned on one of our community roundups, we nearly featured these guys but then they announced they were stopping providing vps. Within a few days of that announcement, Versatile had had a change of heart and were still in business. Brendan notes that “personal issues” have now been resolved with a stakeholder in Versatile IT leaving. They are a registered Australian company (ABN) and have been in business for quite some time and don’t plan on going anywhere.
Versatile IT accept payments via Paypal and whilst their ToS states that we do not give refunds, if after a few days you determine that their services are not suitable for your needs and you have not broken any of their terms, they will be more than happy to offer a refund. We are told that you can have as many IPv6 addresses as you like, just ask for more. They do not allow Tor exit nodes Torrents, Spam, Piracy or IRC servers. For more information, have a read of their Terms of Service.

Hmm. No IRC or IRC bots. I wonder why?
Hello,
IRC is used quite frequently in illegal activity such as botnets because our products are so cheap it tends to attract people looking to use them for that reason.
Brendan
I think he was being humours :-) (even added a U coz your an Aussie)
I’m not sure he was because someone submitted a support ticket with the same question.
$10/Year is a fake, it’s show $14.00 USD Annually……….
Hello,
Once you get to the checkout the discount is applied.
Did Versatile IT provide pre-install ubuntu OS and zpanel/kloxo?
Hello,
We do have Ubuntu as an option for your OS. You are able to manually install zpanel or kloxo.
Brendan
can you install for me?
We can but please remember that these are unmanaged plans so it will be a low priority.
Hi, does your VHost support TUN/TAP?
Hello,
Yes we do, it can be enabled via SolusVM.
Looks OK according to the TOS, but just wanted to check: any problem with running an accept-only mail server? I have a vanity domain and want to accept all mail sent to it–no bounces, no outgoing mail at all.
Hey,
No problem with that at all. Hurry though, we only have 9 left!
Only 2 left! Be quick!
Of the 128MB plan that is.
The 128MB plan is now sold out! We will be adding more stock within the next 24 hours so make sure you keep checking!
Brendan
checking but out of stock atm
Check now. 30 more have been added!
We now have 30 in stock!
Got one. :-)
I ordered a VPS under this offer and the next day without explanation my PayPal account was refunded the 10usd, despite the site listing stock available. I then tried the discount code again shortly after my money was refunded and the cart allowed the discount however I didn’t order it again as I had tried to send an email to admin@versatileit.com.au and that email account apparently doesn’t exist. I then sent another email to Brendan@versatileit.com.au which I found through PayPal and as of this moment I still have no reply or explanation for the refund.
I have to correct my last comment, I never actually sent the email brendan@versatileit.com asking why I got refunded it was just a draft.
Do this VPS support torrent?
No we don’t sorry.
Brendan,
Back in February you announced you were closing down on to make this offer in April. Would you care to explain and clear the air? One minute you’re tellings us that whilst you’re a one man band, measures are in place to mitigate any issues. Whilst I’m sure nobody would use your service for anything mission critical, we deserve the full picture no matter how disturbing it may be.
