VPSCheap Returns, Featuring Unique OpenVZ Offers in Dallas (Unmetered BW From $16/year!)

Remember when iPhones still had headphone jacks?  Remember seeing Captain America: Civil War in the theater?  Or the first Deadpool movie?  Remember when the Carolina Panthers beat the Denver Broncos in the Superbowl?  If you do, you’ll remember the last time VPSCheap.net was featured here on LEB.  They haven’t been around for a while, but Juan submitted a new offer so let’s take a look.

On the table are some interesting OpenVZ systems.  Right off the bat, you know I’m going to have a crush on a host that uses a coupon code like LET20FOREVER.  But more interesting is that bandwidth is unmetered and specified per tier, starting at 35Mbps and going up to 75Mbps.  Now granted, for some people, getting 4-9MB/sec is not sufficient but for a lot of people, being able to chug all day long at those speeds will meet their needs nicely.  I like the guaranteed part because we see a lot of hosts saying “1gbps port unmetered” but you know you’re not getting the full 1gbps yet they don’t guarantee any given speed.  Here, you know what you’re buying.

These offers are in Dallas.  They claim 24×7 ticket support with an average response time of 17 minutes.  According to their site, they’ve been in business since 2010 and are registered in Delaware as OC1-Conseev, LLC (EIN 85-0590532).  You can read their TOS on their web site.  They accept credit cards and PayPal.

In their own words:

“In operation since late 2011. Enterprise-grade hardware co-located in Dallas and Atlanta. 24/7 ticket support with an average time to first response of 17 minutes.

We’ve just launched a new series of nodes, running the latest virtualization software. This allows us to offer the latest versions of all major Linux distros. To celebrate this, we’re offering a lifetime 20% discount off our entire Budget HDD series.”

Negative experience so far. Paid balance immediately on 10/28, service is still not active as of time of writing on 11/2. Opened a ticket 2 days ago, no response.

I just a few weeks ago cancelled my service with them after being unable to even contact support by ticket or email, server was not accessible via control panel and several points their entire website was not reachable.

I’ll give this much credit – it works for the most part but speeds are not good, the main website and control features regularly do not work or are horridly slow and support seems to not exist for days at a time. If a cheap host to play on is what you need it will serve that purpose but be prepared to wait to get any help.
