LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

XenVZ – £0.99 OpenVZ VPS

Tags: , , Date/Time: August 19, 2009 @ 5:31 am, by LowEndAdmin

XenVZ Could this be the cheapest VPS ever? Maybe, but it’s indeed very low end. XenVZ, the UK hosting company that offers both Xen and OpenVZ virtual servers, is posting on WebHostingTalk some OpenVZ servers starting at 0.99 British Pound (USD$1.64/month)! You get:

  • 32MB guaranteed/48MB burstable memory
  • 1.5GB storage
  • 10GB/month data transfer

You need to prepay £5.94 for 6 months with coupon code WHT310809-1. Obviously you will not be able to run cPanel on it :) Even PHP via FastCGI + a light weight web server might struggle on it — but would be fun to give it a try.

The original owner of LowEndBox known as "LowEndAdmin" or "LEA" for short founded LowEndBox in 2008 and created the concept of hosting applications on low resource "Low End Boxes". After creating the roots of the community that we know today, "LEA" stepped aside and allowed others to carry the torch forward.

  3. XenVZ are now $16.20 for even a tiny 64Mb VPS so SFAICT they no longer qualify for listing.
