Mike from VPSCheap.net sent us an update notice that they have added new stock and with it, annual plans. LEB readers can now get one of these with a 10% discount (first year only). He later let me know that if your happy with your VPS by the end of the year, open a ticket and you can discuss extending the discount for the next year.
I feel the need to once more mention that VPSCheap.net is not not to be confused with dead-pooled VPSCheap.info

Great deal! I just want to let you know, you mispelled the word “additional” on this page:

Whether to support a VPN
@ Don
Thank you Don for letting us know. This has been corrected.
@vvx.cc
Our customers may enable TUN/TAP and PPP at their convenience through the VPS control panel.

Great spec and price. Do you allow public proxies?
Interesting.
Again, I am still happy with my box.
Stable I/O.
Good network.
Average uptime.
Good customer support =)
This plan got upgraded recently, from 5 to 10mbps and 5GB to 10GB of disk, which is wonderful =)
show I/O please!
root@vps:~# dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=64k conv=fdatasync
65536+0 Datensätze ein
65536+0 Datensätze aus
4294967296 Bytes (4,3 GB) kopiert, 10,5815 s, 406 MB/s
OMFG :|
I already have one from the previous sale and I am happy with it but my port didn’t get upgraded to 10mbit. I will order a new one.
@ Yomero
Glad to hear you are still happy
@ Stefan
Please open up a ticket and we will upgrade you accordingly. There is no need to place a new order.

Am i allowed to run a tor node (not exit, just relay) on my VPS ?
We do not allow running any tor related software on our virtual servers.
8 months now and my VPS has been great!! Definitely a keeper..
Ordered and waiting :)
And received it :-)
Update: They dont have a minimal Debian installation available, too bad :(
Ok, after logging into the control panel, there is a selectable OS called “debian 64 minimal” which is in fact minimal, thanks :)
I will try this now. Ever if ping is higher in my location but I like the good comments.
I/O Went hardly down:
root@chicago1:~# dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=64k conv=fdatasync
65536+0 Datensätze ein
65536+0 Datensätze aus
4294967296 Bytes (4,3 GB) kopiert, 83,8976 s, 51,2 MB/s
Florian, your vps was placed on the wrong server originally, we did a quick move on your vps.
The current dd test should give you over 100mb/s anyways:
1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 9.13096 seconds, 118 MB/s
which is what we consider acceptable for a budget vps.
I liked the other one more :(
That node did have much higher I/O because it only had very few virtual servers on it which have all been transferred off. You probably wouldn’t have liked the stability issues which we are working on before putting it in production. :)
I do a lot of torrenting and was told i should buy a vpn to sit behind while i torrent so it is harder for me to get in trouble.
Offer a minimal “32Bits” linux?, what Linux OS are available to install in control panel? location of VPS?
Out of Stock :(
Today heavy packetloss:
— heise.de ping statistics —
9 packets transmitted, 7 received, 22% packet loss, time 7994ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 115.250/115.637/116.192/0.488 ms
— heise.de ping statistics —
378 packets transmitted, 335 received, 11% packet loss, time 38200ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 114.517/115.492/116.190/0.396 ms, pipe 2
I signed up also..
Disappointing yet another provider is so anti-TOR but whatever..
Well… I don’t know what happened but…
20 minutes of downtime for maintenance according to your mail.
For me was more than 3 hours =/
Why all sold out? :|
Que garcha , Thanks for the great service Will buy 2 more!
I did a small review of this plan with a bunch of benchmarks. I hope it’s interesting for someone :)

it can handle 30 clients for VPN? let me know that bandwidth allocation is unmetered / month
They accused me of running a TOR relay the second I started using any bandwidth at all! I paid $20, fired up cjdns & peered with a few people, and was humming along using a steady 500kb/s each way. Then, about 2 minutes later I got an email accusing me of running TOR!
I don’t normally review these type of hosting places but I had a rough experience with this one. Their equipment crashed 2 times in a couple of months and we had significant outages. The second time they lost the VPS and the central backup. I kid you not. They were nice to offer a couple months of credit but it was bad. Be careful…
My VPS is running on it’s second year and all I can say is that it is running well. The support is kind and the response times are fast. After looking to my old tickets the longest wait time was 5 hours.
They even asked me for a prefered day and time as they planned the move my vps to another host.
One of few vps hosts I am recommending.
Not recommended. VPSCheap is unreliable host, after few months i lost all data i had on my VPS (other users also). VPS was down for few days, and there was no notifications at all from VPSCheap. Cheap and bad, my conclusion.
