Tags: , , Date/Time: July 19, 2017 @ 12:00 pm, by Matt Zelasko

Hey readers! Ali from Hyper Expert just sent over an offer that’s pretty competitively priced for the amount of resources he is offering. All plans below come with dedicated resources (KVM based) while being hosted on Red Hat’s own Virtualization technology. Without further ado, please give Ali and Hyper Expert a warm welcome to LowEndBox!

Here’s what they had to say:

“We are super excited to introduce the all new Hyper Expert hosting services. This has been in the making for a while due to building a complete custom enterprise ready infrastructure utilizing Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization back-end and a fully customized user portal based on WHMCS. All of our services are built on KVM technology with dedicated resources for the price of what others offer for containerized VPS. We offer unlimited bandwidth and a wide variety of OS’s. We can also accommodate installing OS’s that are not already provided. 7 days full refund with no questions asked.”

They are a registered business in the state of Washington, USA (#603510295). Their Terms of Service can be located here.

They currently accept Credit Cards and PayPal only.

  1. Sven Slootweg:

Pretty dubious terms of service. Contains a binding arbitration agreement and class action suit waiver, and seems like copypasted terms that were written for a user content site, not a hosting provider.

    As a result:

    > You hereby grant (and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant) to Company an irrevocable, nonexclusive, royalty-free and fully paid, worldwide license to reproduce, distribute, publicly display and perform, prepare derivative works of, incorporate into other works, and otherwise use and exploit your User Content, and to grant sublicenses of the foregoing rights, solely for the purposes of including your User Content in the Site.

I’d be very wary of this. These terms were clearly not written specifically for a hosting provider.

That’s all good and well, but how did those TOS get there in the first place? Did you not read the TOS before using them? That suggests a lack of care in how you operate your business…

Some notes on commenting on LowEndBox:

  • Do not use LowEndBox for support issues. Go to your hosting provider and issue a ticket there. Coming here saying "my VPS is down, what do I do?!" will only have your comments removed.
  • Akismet is used for spam detection. Quoting webhostingtalk.com URL seems to get binned consistently here, but I do peek into the spam box frequently to publish those comments.
