Marc, from ShardHost, has sent in four annual/monthly offers to celebrate their second birthday. Whilst there are only three offers shown below, you can see the fourth offer by clicking ‘more’.

ShardHost is a UK LTD company (reg 07679837) that has been providing hosting services since June 2011. We have featured them once before on LowEndBox. They currently serve over 3500 clients on their fully owned vps hardware. Their SuperMicro servers are running Intel Xeon E3 1240 v1/v2 processors, Enterprise Hard Drives (WD RE4 or Seagate Constellations) with hardware Raid 10. Marc informs us that they can “double/triple resources on any plan for double/triple the price”. Reviews on their previous thread, as well as on let 1 2 3, all seem to be positive.
512mb KVM

IPv6 is not currently available. To summarise their Terms of Service: Be a good neighbour, No spam/abuse, Legal stored content only and finally No TOR. For more information, have a read of their Terms of Service and their Acceptable Usage Policy.

Any chance can get the 256mb KVM plan with 10gb storage? If so how much a year
I am afraid due to how tightly disk is linked to storage on this setup we have no flexibility. If you need more disk space you will need to order the 512mb plan.
What is the uplink speed per VPS?
Annuals are 100Mbps
Monthly is 1Gbps
Interesting. will order it.
any chance of allowing windows? :(
Please contact us via ticket with specific details.
It seems to charge VAT @ 20.00% at the checkout page even if you’re not from Europe.
When you add a non EU address it is removed at the checkout
Thanks to Liam for preparing this submission.

“Servers are located at the Colo4Dallas datacenter in Dallas, Texas.”
Why don’t you just say Colocrossing?
In their last offer they said, “Servers are located at the CoreXchange datacenter in Dallas, Texas.”
They possibly moved away from Incero from the looks of it.
AFAIK they were never in Incero, but colo in CoreXChange
They had a rack with CoreXchange directly and then moved to Colo4Dallas it appears through ColoCrossing
We moved from Corexchange to Colocrossing
The offer we sent in actually said Colo4Dallas via Colocrossing.
I can confirm this. I have gone ahead and amended that sentence.
Thanks Liam
172.245.61.2 – test IP in NY, not in Dallas Why providers starts give a wrong info? Its most important.
The IP is clearly in Dallas, have you tried pinging it? Why people starts trusting geolocation data more than actual ping? Its most important.
http://lowendping.nikkii.us/
Test IP is correct. Please use other methods than possibly outdated geolocation info.
Cheap prices.Receiving a special notice, hereby, and give my support to you.
Can I use a month, and then apply for the annual pay for it? Yearly next month or $ 30 for it?
The annual plans are not offered on a monthly basis; however we do offer a full 7 day money back guarantee
I’ve been with them since the last offer they published in lowendbox, really good customer support and connection speed. Using the KVM as both as VPN and web / graph database server, very pleased by the performance.
Thanks for the kind words, we’re glad it’s meeting expectations
Does it supported openvpn tun/ tap and port forwarding nat?
And how is it good from asia ?
As it is KVM it supports anything you can pretty much think of (tun/tap/openvpn is fine)
Speeds to Asia are OK for a Dallas location. If you need fantastic speeds then maybe a VPS on the west coast would be better for you
How do I get it ? Need advise
Get what sorry? It may be easier for you to open a ticket on our website for questions.
Get the west coast vps
Does it support openvpn tun/ tap and port forwarding nat?
And how is it good from asia ?
Hey, do you think it’s possible to get a larger test file? I am getting around 13568 KB/s (~ 105Mb/sec) before it done downloading. (I am guessing the files are on a 1Gb/sec connection). Thank you!
Sure: http://172.245.61.2/1000mb.bin
Georgia @ 50744KB/s (~ 396Mb/s)
Netherlands @ 26812KB/s (~ 209Mb/s)
Not bad :]
I’m so gonna sign up for the KVM
i got one!
Any chance you can add an option other then PayPal for payments. PayPal is one of the worst companies in the world, as far as I am concerned.
We will be adding Stripe (Direct CC) payment within the next 48 hours
Stripe is available, sorry for not updating sooner
worst for you, best for the rest :))
What is the lists of the OS templates?
Click the “reinstall” button
I didn’t purchased the vps yet :)
it seems nice i ordered one
Typical ones. CentOS 6, SL 6, Fedora 18, Ubuntu 12.04, 13.04. OpenSuse 12.2. Debian 7. You have great choices. This is not the full list, only said the ones that I remember.
I will use the service for a very lightweight workload (just to develop some webapps and have a remote testing server always on). I subscribed yesterday and it appears to be a very good server.
So jcaleb: tell us what templates are available to be used :)
Hopefully, shardhost will not mind me answering this.
The templates have nice selections. im happy, but i really wish turnkey be included by most hosts

Thanks JCaleb,
I was just preparing this list. Thanks
If you prefer to install via cdrom, i also saw freebsd 9.1 x86 (and 64bit), Vyatta Core 6.6, and Arch.
I love the fact they put in a BSD
I have installed Ubunut 12.04 x64.
I can’t figure out how to install Arch Linux form cdrom. Can someone please guide me?
If you open a ticket with the specific issues you are facing we’ll see what we can do for you.
did you find what you like in the list?
I saw Debian 6 and 7 with minimal template, also the Ubuntu with the minimal template.
It’s nice. :)
Hi Pak Erawan,
I already purchase with 10 usd/year, the speed is not bad from Indonesia. It’s ok for watching hulu & netflix with HD quality.
But I can not find for the mikrotik template.
Terima kasih informasinya Pak :)
Agak jarang yang menyediakan template mikrotik disini. Dulu pernah ada, tapi lupa nama providernya
Please open a ticket with support and we can get this installed for you
how much additional charge double ram for this 1024mb KVM monthly offer?
I believe they can double resources for double the prices.
See http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/11513/
Hello there,
It would be double the cost to do this. You’d also increase disk and transfer also.
Register one but the status is “Fraud” ,I can’t pay for it . I hope they unlock my orders . Did others had the same situation? I already submit an ticket yet , waiting for response. Thank you!
Our automated fraud checking will mark a number of orders as this status based on different criteria. If you contact us we’re willing to work with you in moving this status
If I order an annual plan will it renew at this special rate? I don’t want to be hit with a larger bill next year.
The price is not a discounted rate. As we own this hardware we hope to offer this price on an ongoing basis. Unless we have a massive change to our colocation costs we do not envisage this price changing at renewal. We’ve never increased prices for existing customers in two years.
Is the transfer limit a monthly value? 256gb per month, even if you order the annual plan?
Transfer is monthly.
any particular reason a monthly user get a 1 gbs port while yearly gets 100 mbs? almost sounds counter intuitive, you shoukd reward the person willing to pay yearly…??
Hello G,
1GB Monthly = $60/year (12 x $5)
1GB Annual is half the price. We can provide a 1Gbps upgrade if people wish for a one off fee of $5
what is a one off fee $5? one time fee of $5 or recurring $5/yr?
one off means one time i think
To Clarify,
The payment would be due each year.
Anyone have BAD experiences with this host? I just made an error of judgement by giving 2Host another chance and I’m looking for a STABLE long term provider. Shardhost sounds ideal but too many positive comments make me nervous. :-)
Replying to my own post here. Ditched 2Host after only a month due to horrible downtime. Only been a couple days, but so far so good with ShardHost.
Hi Ken,
Did try to reply to your original post when you made it; however was not able to. Glad you are enjoying the service.
Colo4 sold or re-branded? They are now named TierPoint.
It’s a rebrand.
Cequel III have owned Colo4 since 2011 and recently acquired Tierpoint. This has led to the rebranding of all divisions under the Tierpoint name.
Great offer. If I didn’t have 2 idleing VPSes already, I would definately get one!
Put your other two to use :) I am sure there are some projects worthy.
Sarah, your SSL certificate has expired.
Thanks, was a slight issue with how we replaced it. Issue resolved.
Just got one, needed some help to add an ISO. They responded fast and was very helpful. Seems like a great host!
Thanks. We’re glad this is meeting your expectations
If E3 then this only have 32gb ram? so only few vm in 1 node?
Yes we only have 32GB maximum
is it just a limited promotion?
We have nearly 1TB of RAM to sell on this promotion. Once we have sold this, it is then limited by stock availability (cancellations etc).
We’re pleased with the 500 customers that have signed up with us as a direct result of this promo and we hope to serve many more. Thanks to them for their confidence and LEB for the opportunity.
good luck, may you stay around for a very long time and make us happy clients
Can we use our own MS Window on the KVM by using our own key?
If a link to the ISO is provided
Is there a possibility to order additional IPv4s?
Yes additional IPv4 are charged at $0.50; however must have proper justification.
Please see tickets,I have provide a download link for my iso, waiting.
Your tickets have been resolved. In all honesty your ticket will usually be replied to before any comment made here.
Sarah: Do you offer re-seller packages?
Please open a sales ticket on our website regarding reseller packages
How can I double resources (and price) in $30 VPS?
Do you provide VPS in Europe?
Simply open a ticket after purchase of the base plan. We are in negotiations with various EU data centres. We hope to open service within the UK in a few months time.
I already upgrade, please see tickets. Thx
Network problems last hour?
An email is on its way out to all clients explaining the issue
Sarah, Mind posting a copy here too? I saw the same issue in Dallas and they said ‘we have no issues’.
As per issues in Chicago and Buffalo in the past.
Today we suffered network disruption that caused intermittent connectivity for clients. This was an issue with our upstream provider. They had a problem with their primary network carrier in Dallas. The primary network’s BGP session did not go dark and instead showed packet loss. Due to this our network providers system did not switch to other transit options. We will be working with them to ensure this issue does not arise again.
May I suggest a public network status stream on twitter or the like? I wouldn’t have opened a ticket and you guys wouldn’t have to answer the tickets if I could check the network status and know that you’re aware of the problem. I see you do have a network status page for logged in customers. Thanks.
We’ll be implementing a public status/issue tracker shortly.
I just bought 1024mb KVM $30/Year.
Its very powerful and high network speed.
Glad to have you on board
@nico ,
Can you post some benchmarks please?
Not mine, but I found this from like 11 days ago. Hope it helps http://serverbear.com/benchmark/2013/07/09/TzOgUNhpmivbUIrk

What about a TOR hidden service running in a TOR client? In other words, no TOR relays, no TOR exit nodes. It is really just a normal webservice with clients coming in through the TOR network.
Please open a ticket with specifics of this application over the HSP
I just bought 1024mb KVM $ 30/Year.
Its very powerful and high network speed.
Dear Sarah, can you help me for my VPS update ISO?
Sure, please open a ticket. Feel free to put for the attention of myself.
Thank you @Sarah
I hope shardhost customers can quickly react submitted Ticket.
This will make us feel better experience.
Been hopping between VPS providers and decided to try out ShardHost. Bought a 1024mb KVM $30/year yesterday and I have to say that I am impressed! Everything from buying to setting up has been smooth and performance is definitely on par with what I expect from a good VPS service provider! I’m definitely looking forward to being a customer for the long term.
That is great to hear. Thanks for placing your hosting with us.
Could you add Windows Server 2003/2008 template to your OS template list?
We will not be adding Windows templates as we do not officially support it. We will however add a Windows ISO if you can provide a download location and use your own licence.
Bought the $5/month 1024mb KVM package yesterday. Great value, quick setup, and (very) impressive network speeds. Very happy with my purchase.
We’re happy to have you on board. If you need anything from us just let us know!
I just wanna give + feedback: i did upgrade my service into 30 usd/ year. The server and network speed are great. I hope their quality keep good and has very minimal downtime.
Thanks for the feedback, we’re happy to have you on board with us.
Hey , I have some questions about this and I hope someone can give me an answer …
1.) It is possible to upgrade the bandwidth ?
2.) It is possible to test the VPS 1x Month and then upgrade it ( double / triple the resources )
~Richard
Hello Richard,
1) Yes this is possible. Please contact our sales for details on pricing
2) Yes this is also possible, you’d merely pay a pro-rata amount for the remaining time.
Just added my 3rd ShardHost VPS to my account. It’s pretty hard to beat a $30/year for a KVM host.
Every thing has been solid!
Glad to hear you are continuing business with us!
is that allowing torrent? for personal use?
We allow torrents; however, please refer to section four of our AUP:
http://www.shardhost.com/aup.php
Hi Sarah,
Do you offer cheap/free Directadmin license?
I am afraid we do not.
I just upgrade my VPS to 1024MB, waiting my VPS.
Just wanted to post and say I now have several VPSs from shardhost and they are AWESOME! Very good support and the quality of the VPSs are very nice. Keep up the great work guys!
That’s great to hear. It’s always a pleasure.
No IPv6 no go
Hello Ngn,
It’s always disheartening to lose a customer over no IPv6. I can see you’ve posted on a number of hosts comments with a variation of the same one liner, so obviously IPv6 is important to you. If you’d like to open a ticket with our support desk we can ensure you are informed the moment we have IPv6 available.
Account password transmitted via email in plaintext?! :( Very disappointed. This is 2013.
Hello Brokenshard,
It’s always hard to balance usability and security. Your initial account password is transmitted in plaintext; however is not stored in plaintext. It is possible to change this password within the client area without it being further sent in plaintext.
I think it’s rather important for you to notify your users as they are signing up for an account that the initial account password will be transmitted in plaintext first so that they can treat the password chosen as a TEMPORARY password.
In any case, transmission of passwords in plaintext over email in this day and age is really unforgivable. SolusVM really need to change this default ‘policy’.
With over 600 orders placed for our KVM LEB plans we have to announce that the Annual servers are now out of stock and will only be restocked through cancellations.
The KVM monthly product is still available.
Could you notify me if more come in stock? I wouldn’t mind a second :)
A small amount has been released today
It seems only the 512MB is in stock. Do you have any 1gb ones?
Please open a ticket with sales on our website. I am sure we can help you out with a 1GB plan
I think we will be wait to next year… ;/
I think so, because you have missed this opportunity!
A small amount has been released today
I’m looking everyday on the website for released account, but unsuccessfully :/ (512mb kvm)
ShardHost is very good, I have joined shardhost.
We’ve released a small amount of the annual stock today
HI Sarah, I got one of the $30/Year VPS, and I’m not able to bring the server online, always showing offline, tried to install several OSs, but no luck , am I missing any steps to bring it up ? Thanks
Created a ticket, and issue was resolved within 24 hours, Thanks
if no one wants their annualy vps then give it to me :o
Please open a ticket with sales on our website. I am sure we can help you out with a plan
So far i’m satisfied with the vps performance. :D
As these services are now sold out, we will no longer be checking this thread. Please open a support ticket if any questions need to be answered.
Hi,
I have recently bought a KVM VPS and I am facing a problem.
I have sent many tickets to theyr support team but no answer!
Theyr support is the worst I have ever seen!!
They read my tickets and they close them after reading without giving a sigle answer!
Is this right?
Anyway. I am so dissapointed with shardhost.com
I will not recomend to anyone buy something from them because of the unexisted support.
(sorry for my English but it’s not my native language :) )
Regards.
Hello Billy,
That’s certainly not how we operate. If you can give any ticket IDs that I can verify or check up on for you please let me know.
I can confirm that he’s not joking. My first ticket was answered in minutes, while another was not answered after one day and I replied to my own ticket, and the next morning they finally said it was a template issue! They may have good servers and prices, but not their support.
These plans have been restocked:
http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/14680/shardhost-1gb-annual-kvm-30-512mb-annual-kvm-ssd-30-512mb-annual-kvm-20-more
They are very tricky .here mark to the USD but link display to the British pound .also they are lie ..
we cant trust …sorry
My host has been down all day (about 12 hours now). Ticket 646598 has not been touched. What’s the purpose of a high ticket if it doesn’t get seen?
Can’t connect to my kvm server in Buffalo and just got the following email. Now how do I get my money back (prepaid for the year)?
Due to recent unexpected trading circumstances Shard Hosting Solutions LTD has ceased trading with immediate effect. We urge all clients to take a backup of their data immediately as we cannot guarantee how long services will operate for before being disconnected by our upstream suppliers.
