No LA location?
Hi Jasa! Great catch — we’ve in fact have sold out inventory (in multiple locations). The good news is that we’re constantly replenishing inventory.
In the event you find a location sold out, that you’re interested in, just send me an e-mail dustin@racknerd.com and I can alert you when stock will be filled, and or work a miracle :)
Is IPv6 available in Amsterdam?
Hi Darius, we sincerely appreciate your interest in RackNerd.
While native IPv6 isn’t available in Amsterdam, we encourage those who are ok with it to consider tunnel broker for free tunneled IPv6 — that way you’re still able to achieve your requirements with RackNerd.
Great deals! Wish I had a need for another VPS, I already have 4 VPS’s here :D
Good provider tho, no complaint.
Hi Wes, appreciate your support and business! It’s refreshing to see customers happy with our service and support level.
Will this price be grandfathered in for us? or is there some fine print somewhere that we’ll have to pay more later down the road?

Hi Kevin! Great question!
In the many years of business, we’ve yet to increase existing client service pricing – so it’s safe to say that you shouldn’t expect a surprise increase in price after one year of service. If you are looking for additional peace of mind, whenever comfortable, you can request early renewal invoices. This would help you secure the existing rate as well as extend your service due date.
We look forward to working with you.
Hi Dustin,
Really appreciate the timely response. Im going to give this racknerd.com a go, will purchase later today or tomorrow.
Im currently a customer at azure.microsoft.com (my chicago location, looking to use racknerd.com for a chicago now), aws.amazon.com/ec2/, vultr.com, dedipath.com.
I run Quake Live game servers from these hosts, it’s a very small niche community (not very many players left, we’re all getting too old to game I suppose) Game is over 20 years old.
The specs on your KVM VPS are better than some of my current hosts, just need an un-managed (managed by me) VPS.
We can run our game on a single CPU and less than a GB of RAM… so it wouldn’t be taxing on the node I’d be on.
Thanks again and looking forward to giving racknerd.com a go!
Cheers
just wanted everyone to know that my servers are setup on racknerd.com (chicago) and so far all numbers look great (i.e. CPU Usage /RAM Usage ect…) we’ve played a couple hours now and zero packetloss, zero complaints from connecting clients!
Thank you racknerd.com and lowendbox!
Hi Kevin! Appreciate you once again giving RackNerd the opportunity to be your provider. Really glad to see that you and your end-users are happy with the service we’re able to provide.
If you ever need anything, you can count on us to be there.
Wow!!! is it quake 3 arena? Doom Sorlag Major etc? Had years of fun with ’em.
Yes quake 3 arena :)
Hi Pradyut — that’s awesome!
Let’s gooooo!
Hi Kevin! Thank You for commenting and putting your trust in RackNerd! We’re looking forward to the years of business with you.
As for your gaming — awesome to see you’re committed to keeping the game alive – we all deserve fun 👊
just signed up at racknerd or a budget vps, first thing noticed is very responsive compared to my digital ocean units. will keep testing, might signup for another if all goes well.
Thanks for sharing your experience with other readers, Doug! :)
Hi Doug, this is awesome to hear! Especially when we’re delivering the service customers deserve, and when compared to the bigger providers we shine.
Appreciate the refreshing news. If you ever need anything, I’ll be here to help dustin@racknerd.com Thank You!
The good old “your bandwidth has been exceeded” scam
I hope not, I’ve been referring racknerd.com to my community! :(
Hi Kevin — We sincerely appreciate the referrals! By the way, if you aren’t already an affiliate it can be very rewarding https://www.racknerd.com/affiliates
As for Ruzix comments, we’re not sure what he is referring to, as we in many previous sales have doubled customer bandwidth allocations free of charge. We are awaiting to learn more about his comment.
Hi Ruzix — appreciate you commenting! Can you please clarify? We’ve earned great reputation, and continue to deliver service that customers are happy with. We’re very interested in learning more about your comment.
Hey,
Any plan on adding singapore location to these packages? I would really like to have a server where i can get < 100ms in asia.
Hi Hassan — I sincerely appreciate your interest in RackNerd.
In regards to Singapore, at this time we do not have any inventory available in Singapore for our KVM VPS product line – the good news is that we do have inventory available for our shared hosting and reseller hosting offers, which both by the way are powered by cPanel (along with many added features free of charge).
If this is a product you’re interested in, I’d love to help dustin@racknerd.com
I’ve been using the 3 core, 3.5g plan for over a year now. I think it’s wonderful. Zero issues.
Hi Puda74 — Thank You for sharing your experience with the community. We’re really happy to see that your experience has been wonderful, this is what we strive for.
We look forward to many more years together 👊
Rayzen 4GB Vps deals are out of stock !!
and this one 3.5GB is there any way to have 4GB Ram instead of 3.5 ?! also is all of your vps deals have DDoS protection ??
Hi bibou — We sincerely appreciate your interest in RackNerd.
Our stock constantly fluctuates, as we’re very popular within the communities. With that being said, we work extremely hard to maintain inventory, for example at the time of this post we’ve replenished additional inventory. DDoS protection is something we do have in place though not something we’re marketing or catering to at this time. Depending on the type, level of attacks, and frequency will help determine the best fit provider for those attacks. Are there specific attacks you’re seeing most of?
By the way, our plans are fully customizable as well, just open a sales ticket and our team can assist and or e-mail dustin@racknerd.com and I can personally help quote a custom configuration (we’re flexible).
Unfortunately, i have emailed you two weeks ago and I haven’t received any reply. Even tho I’m an old customer to racknerd. The live chat also no help at all. As i spoke with a new employee (she told me this) so she doesn’t have any information. Email is arabpowertk at gmail dot com
Kind regards
Hi bibou — Thank You! It appears your email did not make it to my inbox folder initially – however, I was able to locate your email based on the information you provided.
I have went ahead and sent you over a response 👊
This could very well be a scam… Im only a month into my year long service with racknerd.com (I’ve pre-paid for the years worth of service)…
well today racknerd just took my vps offline… Im fighting with tech support now to find out why this has happened?
Dustin B. Cisneros didnt maKe me feel like anything like this would ever happen… I need my vps online 99.9 percent of the time… and for us to be on the server and racknerd just shut us down with no / zero warning…
this has left a bad taste in my mouth to say the least…
I’ll report back once I find out more
I have been with racknerd around 2 yeary gps went offline only once for couple of hours for some maintenance no more, i also find the support polite and professional. Either there is something wrong with your vps and you should call them and give them a chance to explain or you call email dustin directly.
I hope they solve your problems. But saying scam not true from my own experience.
Thanks for sharing your positive experience Bayrem!
Hi Bayrem — appreciate you vouching for RackNerd. Happy to hear that your experience with RackNerd has been satisfying.
We sincerely appreciate your business.
Update: I apologize for blaming racknerd, their support team got back with me right away and I was DDoS attacked is the reason my server was Null routed and offline for a bit… I’m currently waiting on a response from them to see if I can purchase some protection for a future attack!
Thanks racknerd.com
Kevin – we are glad to hear your satisfied with RackNerd’s service. :)
satisfied? I’m not satisfied in the least… :D
my vps was DDoS’d and I cant even purchase protection from more attacks in the future…
also the node Im on is over-sold, Im suffering increased cpu usage…
satisfied? not at all… Im basically stuck for the next year as I’ve already payed in advance for a years worth of service…
my Final Thoughts on racknerd.com? If you need a cheap VPS that doesnt protect you from DDoS attacks and over sells their host nodes… then racknerd.com is def for you!
Hi Kevin, I did receive your email to me about 30 minutes ago, and I responded to you in greater detail subsequently about 11 minutes ago.
While we will continue to communicate and assist Kevin via e-mail, I just wanted to recap a few things here since this matter was shared via a public channel:
With regards to the first comment/matter, we are aware of your original support ticket with regards to your specific VM’s IP address being targeted with large DDoS attacks as a result of your gameserver, that issue from about two weeks ago was discussed/determined to be unrelated to the second issue you’re reporting today, which is CPU utilization (which I’ll go over below in the next paragraph) within your particular VM. The first and original matter has since been resolved with you directly weeks ago, and I do see the ticket was closed/resolved out in a positive demeanor.
With regards to the second comment/issue regarding increased CPU usage – we do not overload our infrastructure and are very proactive in monitoring our infrastructure. I’ve confirmed the physical host node your VM is deployed on is actually very under-utilized, and nowhere close to even hitting capacity. With that being said, from what we can see on our end, this seems like something software or configuration related within the VM that is creating the increased CPU load symptoms you’re seeing today. That might be something you want to troubleshoot further, perhaps with the help of a Linux systems administrator. It could be a number of things that can create that increased usage, i.e. increased players (you mentioned you were hosting a gameserver on your VM), increased network connections to your VM, changes in any third party software/vendor/configuration installed within your server’s OS, kernel/software versions, etc. Software configuration and OS related items are not something we by default interfere with on our KVM VPS product line, as our VPS’s include full root access and are considered unmanaged (although we’re always happy to lend a hand and give guidance wherever possible).
We ultimately aim to provide a service you’re happy with, and as mentioned earlier – we’re always happy to give a hand wherever we possibly can. If you have any other outstanding issues, we’ll be here to help. I will keep an eye out for your e-mail response and look forward to hearing back from you!
what’s funny is how with all that you’ve said here, you just cant seem to type out the words ‘ yes we will sell you a cheap VPS, but we WILL NOT give you any DDoS Protection… lol… like I told you in our email conversations, which Im apparently goint to have to paste here as well, although I could of sworn this sort of behavior is frowned at here on lowendbox… You could give me a free VPS and if it doesnt have/offer any DDoS protection… I mean what’s the use? right? :D … bbiab to paste the rest of our converstion here on lowendbox… boy this got ugly quick didnt it? :)
Oh boy,
Where do I start from here? lol … so the take it or leave it that I felt came from the DDoS ticket… the guy/gal made it seem like I asked for a cheap vps and this is what I get it… take it or leave it is the taste it left in my mouth… is what it is… to be clear, I did not ask for a cheap vps… but rather racknerd.com advertised such and I purchased it… knowing there had to be a catch… and the catch is ‘we’ll sell you a cheap vps with no DDoS Protection’ … Honestly I wouldnt want a free vps if I didnt have any DDoS protection. :D I mean whats the point in having a vps if anyone able to google ‘how to ddos and IP Addresss’ can take you offline? lol… any ways…
as far as it being VM related to the high CPU Usage, well this just cant be… I’ve ran the same VPS configuration for my game since 2015… and I’ve ran this server configuration on azure.microsoft.com, aws.amazon.com/ec2/, nfoservers.com, vultr.com, deditpath.com, racknerd.com, ovhcloud.com, cloud.google.com, linode.com, digitalocean.com…. I’ll stop here although I could list at least another half-dozen or so VPS that I’ve rented since 2015 and have ran this configuration on… so I’d be willing to bet my life that the High CPU Usage is not ‘my’ fault… I’ve made zero changes to my configuration to cause such an issue… now to be fair to racknerd.com, I dont know what’s causing my high cpu usage on the VPS… but it’s definitely on racknerd’s end and not my personal configurations end… I run the best servers in our little niche community… and like I said, I never had the high cpu usage on the other hosts, minus dedipath.com, but the fixed it super quick. I mentioned to them that Im running a game not a web site… they moved me and my CPU Usage was back down to normal.
I’d also like to note that I dont particularly like opening support tickets and wasting your time… but the bottom line is my CPU Usage is higher than normal and it’s affecting us. I wish this wasnt the case… I wished the VPS ran like it did the 1st month or so at racknerd… but it’s not… hence why Im reaching out to you today.
I guess I could see if dedipath offers a chicago location and try them… since they was able to fix the High CPU Usage with no problem.
because you and I both know that I’ll be attacked again via the cowardly DDoS, and I cant even protect myself from it… but that’s neither here nor there… the current issue is the high cpu usage… I hope you can find something useful from this email…
and thanks in advance for anything that you’re able to do on your end to get my CPU usage back down.
oh and btw…
I am the ‘Linux systems administrator’ of all my VPSs’ lol
to Dustin
but it sounds to me like we’re at a stale – mate…
I mean you’re 99 percent sure a move to another chi node isnt going to help …
and I’m 100 percent sure the issue isnt my configuration … so Im not really sure where we go from here?
do I just run the vps as an unhappy Paid in Full customer? Until the year is up?
do you refund me my money and I just go and purchase another VPS?
you know it’s really a shame cause I spoke super highly of you to the game admins in our niche community (wouldnt surprise me if they purchased from you already)
but this was before I found out that I had no DDoS protection and my servers was offline for several hours…
guess I’ll sit tight and see what comes of this current High CPU Usage situation.
thanks again!
from Dustin B. Cisneros … The first and original matter has since been resolved with you directly weeks ago, and I do see the ticket was closed/resolved out in a positive demeanor…
closed resolved in a positive demeanor? LOL … I was told by your staff that you have a cheap vps, one that would cost you more money if purchased same specs elsewhere… lol … like I stated above… I wasnt looking for a free/cheap vps… racknerd.com offered this, I didnt ask for it… but it’s misleading, you should disclaim that you get ZERO proctection from DDoS (outside attacks) … I would of never purchased the VPS had I read that… so, closed/resolved in a positive demeanor? you’re joking right now right? I was told to take this VPS or leave it… so up unitl now I’ve kept my mouth shut and took the VPS, sitting back waiting for it to go offline again…
