Community provider SmartHost announced today that they are launching a new block storage offering for their VPS systems!
Here’s a bit about it in their own words:
Every user of servers, that utilize the service to store files, knows how important fast transfers and stability of such a service is. The key files kept on the server must always be available and responding quickly. Therefore, after a lengthy development process, we are excited to introduce a brand new service to our offerings: Block Storage VPS. This new service combines the best of both worlds: Fast NVME SSD operating systems with a high storage RAID-6 Enterprise SAS storage partition.
Sounds pretty cool. Check out the specs:
- Intel E5-series CPUs
- Up to 8 vCPUs
- Up to 16GB Dedicated RAM
- Up to 100GB NVME SSD Disk
- Up to 10TB SAS HDD Disk
- Up to 20TB/Month Bandwidth
- 1 Gbps Network Port
- IPv4/IPv6 Address
Systems start at only $2.95/month! No, you’re not getting 8v cpu and 10TB of disk for $2.95 a month, of course. That will get you a 1GB system in New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Georgia, Florida, Montreal, North California, New Mexico, or Wolverton UK. But you can dial up or add block storage to your heart’s content!
